Robbed of meds, what to expect?

My brother came to my home drunk and ask if he could go to the bathroom, no problem, I was busy working on a boat. He was in the house awhile and came out said see ya later and left. He took all my pain medicine and I am now sick. I live alone so he was the one. I am not filing a police report because I don't need the want the hassle that goes with that. He will deny it and make me look like a idiot. Do I call the doctor and ask for more? How long will I be sick? What all do you go through?  Been on them two years, hydro 10mg, Soma, sleeping meds. It's three weeks until refills.

It's tough but it can be done, you will just feel horrible.  Bowel issues??!!  LMAO no kidding imodium was my best friend.  Actually it helps alot with other issues as well.  Chemically Imodium is very similar to opiates and mimics the opiate in your blood stream.  However it doesn't transfer into the brain.  Drink lots of water, I drank two gallons a day, and stay away from coffee, pop, tea (except for herbal teas).  If you can get through day 5 you'll be over the worse of it, but by that time your just sick and tired of being sick and tired.  Oh and benadryl to help you sleep.  It wont work for the first 3 days but after tht it seemed to work for me.

Thanks for the reply. I know a buddy who asked a stranger about pills and the guy said yeah I can get you some. He gave the guy 300 a hour later and the guy had given him a bag of pebbles so going out on the street is where trouble is.

Oh wow, i feel bad for you! Depending on how many pills you were taking, your withdrawls will probobly be really bad, due to the fact that you have been on them for so long! I have to disagree with the person who said 3-4 days of withdrawls. Most peoples w/d peak at about 72 hours. Back when i would only take about 4-10/325's a day, my w/d lasted longer than 3-4 days.  It shouldn't Oh So Bad if you weren't abusing your prescription, but it will be an experience to remember!!!

bowel issues seem to almost ALWAYS be a problem with opiate withdrawal. Probably my longest and..maybe the worst symptom in the long run. STOCK up on the immodium ad for sure! Its the only thing that'll stop it, but only take it if you need it. I ran into some stomach issues from taking it too often a points during the last 42 days. I'm sorry this happened to you, not a good feeling at all. I had 'friends' that I know stole pills from me a some points during my drug use (which was for legitimate pain) and they never got enough courage to admit it to me. glad I don't have those friends anymore.. now family? thats a different story I suppose. best of luck to you!!

It's funny, here in Tennessee SOOO many addicts have called the police saying there mesicine was stolen that the police NO LONGER will write reports for it. My girlfriend had her entire week takehomes of methadone stolen and the police said they could not help, since she could take a police report to the clinic and get them refilled. That is really sad that it has come to this. I am disgusted by that mentality since I feel it victimizes the person TWICE!

Thanks for the reply. We men are tough and cannot show weakness how long does the flu with steriods go on for. I broke a toe last week and ignore the pain, can I mask this. I own a business and have to move on to pay the bills. Do you have a plan you went by and did you have bowel issues.
