I worked through my whole WD process the first week I worked 7 days and 4 12 hour shifts. I work in healthcare and it was difficult to say the least but I did it!!!! I'm 3 weeks clean and I feel absolutely amazing. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I was prescribed regularly 2 (750) Hydro 1 (10) OC I also took what ever else I could get via manipulating family, friends and my MD to prescribe with that and varied.. Basically prior to my back surgery in 2011 I took that plus 8-10 (525) Percs.. This past summer I also went through about 320-400 Percs that I managed to have my Primary Care prescribe for various aches and pains that I really could have used Tylenol or Advil for... But I did taper to the above by Oct 2012 and by early December I dumped the Vic and tapered off the yes I know 1 (10) mg OC.. For me it was more of a fear of actually functioning without an opiate.. I did them for quite a few years and one day I just owned my problem and decided that living the facade was over.. I am very greatfull that this opiate affair did not affect me in my family, career or financially. I knew it had to stop because dosage was becomimg increasingly less effective. You can do it ... The physical symptoms pass they really do .. Trust me if I could get through you will get through!
WOW. Amazing. May I ask, what amount you were taking, ? How did you manage, what did you take?
I worked thought the worst of it days 3-5; honestly other than sneezing, fatigue general malaise feeling like s?!$ it was not as bad as I thought.. I actually had to chair a meeting and do a presentation ( that was a first without having a Vic or Perc in a loooong time) also managed to get through a business luncheon with three guys I am one of the few females in my business to have a high level position so most of my interactions are with guys and that made it a lot easier as I told them upfront that I was not feeling well and didn't want to be bothered with anyone of course they didn't know why but for the most part left me alone....Not sure what you do for work but you can make it happen .. Good luck and positive energy and thoughts headed your way!
He He...don't forget to set your alarm! :)
Thanks. I'll remember the pillow. =)
