Yeah methadone as well as other pain killers numb your nerves suppressing your sex drive.  I know my husband can't get off if he is taking the pills, he can get hard but don't feel anything.  It is frustrating for both of us.  As an addict myself I know that I was never in the mood when I was abusing.  Now that I am not using I feel everything which is good and bad.  I feel like I am always in the mood for sex now, but my husband is still using so this is tough now.

Oh Yes, how I can relate to this, my poor husband Im surprised he hasnt gone out & found someone else, as on methadone all my sexual desire went bye,bye, geez, I was starting to wonder if their was something wrong with me, I used to love men, once on methadone that all changed, now that Im only on 3mgs my feelings are coming back fast & furious, its kinda like coming out of one fog but entering into a different type fog, its weird but wonderful. Also I wouldnt even shed a tear at a funeral, now I cry at the dumbest commercials, songs, movies etc. Methadone works on your nervous system & masks emotions & feelings, which is a shame, I want to be me, I want to laugh,cry, & feel.        Penelope     P.S Whats your dose?

It's a central nervous system depressant.  That'll do it man.  Once you're off of it, you should start to get it back again with gusto my friend.
