W/D question, my friend can't stop throwing up :(

hi everyone!
Well, I am 8 days into my suboxone treatment and doing pretty well so far, this question isn't really about me, I have a friend who was taking a lot of pills, for long periods of time, and I'm assuming she was smoking oxy contin and taking whatever she could get in order to not go through withdrawal recently. She has been texting me all morning asking if I know of any way to help her to stop throwing up. Shes on..day 2 only I think and she evidently can't take immodium because shes just throwing everything back up. She wanted to go to the ER because shes in such a bad place right now, now if she went there they would give her something to make her stop throwing up I'd assume? I just don't know what to tell her at this point because I've never thrown up during opiate withdrawals. I've experienced first hand almost every other symptom I'm pretty sure, but thank god never vomiting. Any suggestions anyone? I'm assuming its the harder drugs that give people the severe vomiting when in w/d, oxy-contin, morphine, and heroin maybe? Someone help me with a good suggestion for her, I've done everything I can to get her to hang in there mentally, but I know the physical can overcome the mental at times. Thanks for any help! ♥

thank you for responding, we did call her doctor, he called her in a scrip and it did dtop the vomiting. We got through it, I didn't want her to use just because she as SO sick. I know I would of felt so weak myself throwing up like that. Shes still sick, but at least not as bad as yesterday! and thank you Avis for bringing up the dehydration, I was REALLY worried about that too, especially in the state she was already in! ♥

There are meds that they will give her.  They can give it in a shot but also send her home with a script and they do work well.  There is Phenegryn, Vistril and also Zofran.  Those are non- narcotic and work well for stopping vomiting instantly.  I agree that getting help is important so that will not be her undoing.  Just remind her that each time she throws something up her body is getting rid of the toxins.  I know for me that thought helped me to keep going.  Best of luck!!  If her Doctor knows she is W/Ding she could call and they most likly would just call her in the script.

Gravol comes in a suppository form just ask the pharmacist where they would be in the store. This may help with her vomitting as well as some sleep.
Good luck to her she is in my prayers.
And congrats to you on day 8.
