Why is everyone so afraid to ask

This will probably be bumped over to the other side but I have seen many people afraid to ask their husband, wife, boyfriend and so on if they are using. If it was your child you would probably ask, but we , me included don't want to ask our loved ones and I wonder why this is? Is it becuase we don't want the conflict it may cause or what. I was just wondering.

I think if you suspect...it is probably true. Loved ones tend to 'know' these things.

yey...me too...wish someone woulda asked me....it is an avoided topic and the same thing happens alot with alcoholics i think...easier to ignore it...i guess for those who have quit and then someone asks them if they are using...and if they are not..it could be taken very negatively and non-supportive...so i guess you may wanna be kinda sure before u ask

its easier to know in your heart than to ask and be lied to.

Maybe we are just to afraid to here the truth come from our loved ones lips. I really wished my family would have asked me if i was using, it would have been so much easier to tell them rather than me lying to them and keeping it a massive secret (and still doing so) . But i think your right, maybe we are scared of what we will hear, even though we know already. (if you know what i mean)
