Have u added aftercare to help u out with relapse?  it helps if u havent tried it

Sleep is important to recovery..without it we become weak
There are OTC meds like benadryl, melatonin, valerian root that can help
And also safe drugs ur dr can RX u like phenergan.  It is for nausea but drowsiness is a side effect and not habit forming.  Most drs will call it in if u call with a tummy virus as it is not a drug of abuse, it just puts most to sleep at 25 Mgs.

Get your sleep...be sure u have a plan for aftercare too

have u skimmed thru the health pages?

Hi:
Keep saying your screen name over and over...keep telling yourself that you can do this.  I know that oxy's are very expensive...my son and I talk about the price of them almost every morning while I drive him to the methadone clinic.  The metadone is a sure way to know that he will not be doing oxy's.  I don't know how people can even afford it.  At the end of his using...he was stealing from everyone...Those drugs are powerful...the people who take them are not bad people and the drug turns them into something they are not.
I am an alcoholic...what my sponser said to me everytime I wanted to drink in the begining of my sobriety was...you NEVER have to feel that way again...if you just don't pick up a drink.
The cravings will go away...TIME is the four letter word of recovery...every time you get a craving..do something else to distract yourself...buy some chocolate (I used resees minature peanut butter cups...) pop them every time you want a pill and see if that helps.  I wish I could give my sobriety to you.  After a while, the cravings pass, I promise...but you have to stay away long enough for that to happen (TIME).

My Thanksgiving was the same. I was so depressed that I had a very hard time trying to enjoy the company. I have not had a pill for about 2 days now. The pain in my legs is driving me crazy! I am really restless, and I have not desire to get out of the house. I am very depressed, and I hope I am going to make it. I wish I had better things to say to you right now, but all I can say is that you are not alone. Just think about this, do you want to keep going through withdrawals like this all the time. If you get more pills, then you are going backwards. You will then go through this all again. What is the point of that. Just because you have pills and take them, doesn't mean that it is going to last. You will run out again, and go through this circle of hell once more. This is what I'm trying to get in my brain right now. I am trying to think a different way. It is hard, I know you can do it too.

The mental battle is just as bad, or sometimes worse, than the physical.  But just as we need to take stuff physically (water, aminos, etc.) ..we also need to keep feeding ourselves mentally to help knock the bad voice off our shoulder...that can only happen when you are listening to or experiencing the good voices...which can be music, exercise, movies, hot baths, something...anything to keep busy and keep from thinking, at least for the first few days until the physical battle is over and you can concentrate better.

I hope you continue to realize that calling in the refill will only continue to make you wannabfre2be....when what you are doing right now is actually being free to be...it may not be fun now, but it gets better being yourself....I wish you the best.

Have you considered an outside support group? You may find it helpful to be around people who have been where you are, or are where you are, and can understand what you are going through. It is also a place to meet and make new clean friends. You will hear people tell you that GETTING clean is the easy part, STAYING clean is the hard part.

I know, for me, I can't do it alone.

I hope you get help for the cravings.

Well today im struggling a little, the mornings are the worst, so i take my L-Tyrosine, and 5hhtp and a good multi vitamin, and a good warm breakfast, oatmeal works great.  Instead of my favorite little pill, but sleeping better somewhat, and have found if i just keep busy and not think about it the mental anxiety doesnt get me too bad.  And trying that mind set you said, a day without pills is a good day.  The weather here turned really cold this week, and causing alot of pain in back and legs, went to doc, and he gave me some prednizone, it works ok, but hate the side effects, bloating, etc.  Thanks for the encouragement, and ill keep up the battle against the pills.

How are you doing? I hope you didn't give in again.  I'm going through a bit of the same. The mental. The physical w/ds are done for me. Try to get into a regimen. Change your day around, your way of thinking.  Remember how you would have your days with your pills, change it and make it a habit without them. It's hard. I know, I'm right here with ya.

Stray strong woman! It's going to be worth it, you'll see!

I'm a drug addict, so will power did absolutely nothing for me. I was no match for the mental need for oxy. It's funny to me to say that 'it's just mental'. I can endure a great amount of physical pain in order to get what I want, but for me, the mental was the real torture. Knowing I was a slave to oxy was terrible. Try out some AA or NA meetings if you can, there's a lot to learn about what's going on with you and what to do to fix it.

Both of these folks speak the truth.
I believe - Step 1 is Will Power. You either Will or Won't.
Step 1 is a hard piece of it, but after that - you just have to know why youre quitting in the first place.
Yeah, it ***** - its an affliction. Everyone has thier simple pleasures - whether it be Chocolate, Food, Alcohol, etc. All of us on here obviously enjoy getting high - but then there's the part of Abuse.
Point is - You Dont need anything like Oxy's to get by in life. There are safer alternatives.
Be strong - Mentally Mostly . .

Adding pills to the mix will do nothing but make things worse with or without sleep.  How bad do you want to get off this roller coaster ride?  Try changing your thinking up.  You say your weak, i say your wrong.  You have it in you to get and stay clean.  Check out some recovery care.  Your life depends on it~~~~~~sara

HI....you got to quit treating the problem with the problem....taking the oxy is only going to set you back to square one...the hammer is only a temporary solution (nock yourself out) lol
what will help you out is getting involved with something like N/A meetings it is the mental side of this thing that brings most down....I always say this is 1/3 physical 2/3 mental
its not to down play the physical that part su cks but rather try to prepare people for the mental ange that hits you....as addicts we need to change the very way we think
by going to things like N/A you will learn how to do that and learn the skills and tools to keep you from going out and scoring right after you just detoxed you will find support and make new friends you might want to give this a try it will get you off the merry go round
good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
