can someone explain the flu like symptoms

Sorry, to answer your question, no two people's w.d are the same. For different reasons, being drug of choice, amount of pills, length of addiction, how you took your pills (snort, chew, swallow) how many times a day you took your doc. Anyway, all of the above is correct. Whether or not you go through all of them is the question. For me, being addicted to large amounts of Oxy Contin, the first week I went through massive cold sweats/chills. I was never able to get warm, but would be sweating profusely under blankets. I had major aches all over my body. I slept all day long the first two days, then got hit with major insomnia for the next month and a half. I had restless legs beginning about the 5th day into my detox, maybe the 4th, I forget. that lasted about 2 weeks. I was taking about 10-15 oxy 80's a day though. But again, everyone is different. If both you and myself were taking the same thing, we may not have the same symptoms. Some people don't get RLS, most do. Some can sleep the whole time, while others can't even get so much as an hour.

The general symptoms are:

Cold/hot = Chills, sweats, flashes
Insomnia
Diarrhea
Body/Muscle Aches
headaches
Extreme fatigue
Depression
Sneezing
Restless leg syndrome
vomiting
anxiety
agitation
sensitivity

The list can go on depending on the person. Its like the worst flu ever, lol. Kicks swine flu's butt....anyway, hope this helps. It gets better so just stick with it. Look into aftercare. Good luck.

You quit both Pain meds and xanax at the same time? How on earth did you get through that and was it dr ordered to do that? Or did you do it on your own? Thank god you are ok. I hear xanax w.d can be bad and one of the only w.d's you need to be under a drs care to get through. God bless and congrats.

I am on day 55 of no pain pills, and 51 days of no xanax.  I am still having terrible headaches, especially in my temples. I have one good day, where I try to exercise or get out, then two more days of feeling tired. Flu like is right. My body aches, and I get so cold. Headaches are bad. I have lost nearly 15 lbs. because the smell of food makes me sick.  I eat when I can, and keep drinking the fluids. I want to know when this is going to subside.. You have to stay positive, and know it's a battle which takes a long time to win. But on that 1 good day it makes all the symptoms seem not so bad. Keep fighting EVERYONE..

only taking 6 or 7 N+ a day went c/t 3days ago 3rd day without for me now ,  yesterday and last night wer the worst aches pains couldnt eat feeling of flu shivvers , bad diarrhoea today not feeling as bad as last night tho as of yet !!! I,d love to know what kind of other addictive ingredient the drugs company is putting into N+ because the c/t from N+ seems way way worse than from other codeine products !!!!!!   the ******* have thousands addicted , In IRELAND here myself .............

everyone is different...for me flu-like for 3-4 days...mild headache, mild nausea...bad runs...slept alot unlike most and dont know why...mild anxiety and extreme fatigue...and some doomy depression episodes as well

feeling freezing cold down to the bones. could not get warm for nothing. shaky, sick to my stomache, every muscle aching, very anxious and still exhausted, lot of bathroom time.

thought i had some kind of disease. ha and my doctor explained that i had become
dependant.

You also experience a sinus drip and cough a lot.  Cough drops help.

Beware of lung illnesses which are very commom after detox.  I had to brochitis infections.  The first one on my 3rd week, then again a month later.  After those, I got 2 really bad sinus infections.

withdraws for me were body aches, hot & cold, bathrrom issues, didnt want to eat (but force your self and get fluids in you) anxiety, and sleeping issues  (day 47 and only physical part still around is the sleep issuses but getting better) hope this helps

Mine are- hot and cold alot but mostly cold,no sleep,restless legs and arms,body pain,not wanting to eat,going to the bathroom alot.Day 10 for me and still not sleeping.
