Vicadan w/d

I have been taking vicodin for a little over a month about 4 10mg tabs a day. I was just wondering how long I may feel crappy. 5:00 PM today will be 24 hours w/o a pain pill. I know it has not been that long since I have been on them but I had a previous addiction to these pills and have been clean for 4 years, I had a cyst that had to be cut open so I could not stand the pain and nothing worked. My first w/d was for at least a week but I had been on them for years and taking like 20 a day. My other question does anyone know anything for the restless legs. I have this normally and the only time I don't have it and can sleep is when I take a pain pill. It is so much worse when I am w/d as I have it all day instead of just at night. I have heard of highlands restless legs in the vitamin section has anyone tried this?? Or anything else. Other than that my symptoms are not near what they were before but certainly still uncomfortable. Any info would be appreciated.

Do you have some epsom salt?  That is good to put in your bath water and then just soak for awhile.  Try and keep yourself hydrated.  If you like gatorade get some of that as it is good for you.  Maybe a shake or malt would taste good....I know this is no fun but it wont last real long.   Getting up and moving as much as you can is helpful also....You can do this!!!  Keep us posted on how you are doing........sara

Thank you for the comments. It is 10:00 pm and the worse I have is the RLS I feel like I could just die. I can't stop kicking my legs from the creepy crawly feeling...therefore obviously no sleep cuz I can't sleep standing up. My husband went to get the highlands stuff for me today have already taken 2 doses now and it is doing absoulutely NOTHING. he first dose today seemed like it helped a little but it came back. As far as everything else I feel sick to my stomach and can't eat. No diaharreah because I take a nausia pill and it stops me up. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing. Anyway will keep posting thanks for your response

Hi....I am sorry noone has answered you.  Sunday's are pretty quiet on the forum.

I would think you would be feeling crappy for about a week.  You may not have the intensity you did the first time.  As for the RLS, many have tried the Hylands and had good success.  Laurel will be on at some point to and she knows all about the natural supplements so she may have some better ideas too.  I took a ton of hot baths when i was going thru wd.

Glad you found us.  More will be on later tonight so keep checking back......sara

Hi devilpills,  congrats on the 24 hours.  Looks like I get to be the first to take a crack at your questions. LOL!!!!  Yeah yeah I saw your "no response" post.  Sometimes we just gotta be patient.  Anyway,  I've heard other recommend and have good things to say about the highlands restless legs stuff.  I've never taken it so I have no experience with it.   As far as feeling crappy I suggest getting some exercise. Maybe taking a walk.  I walk fairly regularly and helps me clear my head.  I wish I could be more help.  The only thing I may be doing to help is pushing this post back to the top.  It is great to hear from you and please keep sharing how you are doing.  Getting cleaned up is a beautiful thing!!!
