day 10 off of OC

i havent been posting much lately because i have been out a lot, more the last three days than any week during the last 3 years ive been on OC,  and it feels great....for the most part.  today is one of those days where you just cant shake the cravings and ive been a little depressed and a lot bored,  like i have said before, my biggest trigger is boredom.  so i cleand my apartment, which took my mind off of the cravingsfor a bit.  i hate how the last couple days i have felt almost like my old self, and then today for no apparent reason i feel like i am WDing again.  oh well.  i have been meaning to ask,  i have a surgery to repair the nerves in my left elbow now and since its going to be the exact procedure they did on my right arm they are going to give me pills.  which i can tell you i am going to need but not want.  if i take the pills as prescribed, and no more, will the WD's come back?  i know i will not abuse them this time around but i am afraid if i end up taking them as needed i might start back at square one.  any advice on wether i should even accept the prescription or not is appreciated.  the surgery isnt for another two months.

I have thought about that too. But if push comes to shove I will take pain killers if I have to. (with stress on the 'have to') Ibuprofen 800 are very strong pain killers without opiates. I would try that first.

thank you. i have a lot of time to think about it.  the WDs arent my main concern, i guess its just that i feel i worked hard just to make it to day 10 and i dont want it to be all for naught if by taking them as needed down the road will just reset my brain back to how it was 11 days ago.

exactly.  it would be VERY hard to do.  i live by myself so i wouldnt always have somebody with me to regulate my dosage.

Good luck with your decision. Sometimes surgeries are necessary and sometimes taking pain pills for a short season is part of that. Be upfront with the Dr if you do go that route. Don't let them prescribe them for too long of a time. The w/ds would be minimal.

gotta love ya opi!  it would be really hard for me to do but i say if you have to have them - have someone dole them out to you at the correct dosage and times. for addicts it has to be done.  if it drives you nuts then see your dr and flush them. whatever your decision- you can do it- also be honest with your dr

If you take pills and then stop you will have withdrawals. It is the nature of addictive substances.
