Woah, alot of meds there ! I'll probably get reamed for this, but Suboxone could be an option to think about here. Come off everything and switch to the Sub. Then you have only one drug to wean off of, without withdrawels from all those different drugs. To do a taper off so many things is alot of withdrawels to go thru. How much can a person handle?
Just another option to think about.
Good luck on whatever you decide. Keep posting, we'll all try to help you thru this.
Wow! I am so sorry. I don't really know the pain you are feeling. And, it's hard when the doctors are pushing all of this on you like this. I would assume at this point that maybe you don't really even know what your pain level is being on so much.......If you want off this cra p you will have to put your foot down with the doctors and tell them you want pain relief with a little narcotics as possible. It just sounds strange to me. If you stick with just fentynl do you get adequate pain relief? I guess I just don't understand where you are right now. Sometimes pain meds are necessary in some circumstances. I just dont' know what your pain levels are?
luv,
Nauty........
I agree. I have talked with all of my doctors and they all think this is the best way to manage my pain. I have gone to the pain management clinic and like I said they only wanted to increase my meds. Liquid morphine by the way.
I am living in hell....
Will ;-(
That is a lot of meds. My opinion about fentynl is it is one of the hardest things to get off of next to methadone. Because it is a patch and most of the time doctors are merciless in how to ween patients off of it, because I believe it only goes down in 25mg incriments. with the smallest patch being 12.5. therefore, it is not easy. Also, being on opiates and benzo's ......oiy. I would think that your going to do this slowly with each med. God, if the patch was not in the equation, and I say this reluctantly.....it would be a bit easier. 50mcg. would be hell to just stop....is your doctor weening you off them currently?? If you were to stop the patch I don't think that the Norco would be enough to support the withdrawal. Have you talked to your doctor about making a plan to get off them? As Avisg says.....one thing at a time, but you have a scary cocktail going on but it can be done.

That is a lot of different meds . I understand your frustration .I would suggest you try going off one at a time .Then see how you are doing after each time you detox off one med .Slow and steady wins the race.
