Anyone else experience long term effects of Mucinex DM abuse?

I started abusing Mucinex DM extra strength when I was 15 years old. I started out taking the average 8-10 pills every few days, but then a few months later, I started taking more and more. For almost a solid year of my life, I was taking 24 pills everyday. I honestly have no clue how I didn't die. I slowed down on taking them, before completely stopping at 17 years old. I haven't touched one since.
But now I'm 20, and ever since then I've been having mental issues that are progressively getting worse.
Short term memory loss, sever anxiety and depression, seeing and hearing things that aren't there, difficulty understanding words, questions, everything really. I have trouble keeping up a conversation. In an argument, I'll literally forgot in a few seconds what I just said not what the argument us about.
All in all, I have a lot if symptoms of psychosis. I just had a CT scan of my head Tuesday, and am awaiting the results. I have a feeling there is major brain damage from all the Mucinex I done.

My question really is, has anyone else been through this?
(Sorry for the long post. Another issue of mine is I can't stay on one topic no matter what)
