Day 5 of taper

Today is day 5 of my taper and I have stuck to my schedule thus far. I am soooo happy to have everyone here who has given great advice and support. Happy Valentine's Day to all!! Today I am down to cutting 2 pills in half and so I will have 4 "doses", I guess that is how to say that. My question is, I have not told my Doctor, and my next appointment is a week from Monday. I think I should tell him, but my biggest fear if I do tell him, is that he will "cut off" my hubby's meds. and hubby is not quite as ready as I am to stop. By the time I go to Doctor, I will be at 0 pills, so should I tell him or not? Please any advice would be great! I have told the friends and family in my life that know I was taking these that I am doing this and I have gotten a lot of support. That helps as well. Thank you all!!

Sorry it took 4ever to write back, I was running errands, but thank you all! Yes, he still wants to quit, but we decided to do it one at a time to make it easier and so we don't "kill" each other. As for the meds being in the house, they are not going to be anymore which puts my mind at ease. I have become very good friends with my neighbor lady,, and she is actually a Nurse. I finally opened up to her and let her know I was doing this and she knows hubby is still taking them so we discussed it, and since she is always home, she agreed to dispense his meds to him for us, so I am not "tempted". I am super pschyced about that!! Happy Valentine's Day to all. P.S. I made it through the day with 2!! Stickin to the taper and lovin' it!!!!

Just wanted to say, I Love your dog!!!!
And good luck on the taper. I agree with all, don't tell your doc. that you had a problem etc. You don't want your hubby going out on the streets getting his stuff. When he's ready, he'll quit. Maybe you'll be an inspiration to him.

I agree with cathy, just tell him you're trying something else for a while. No red flags.

MAYBE WITHO UT SAYING YOU ABUSED YOUR PILLS, JUST TELL HIM YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ALTERNATIVES TO THE NARCOTICS AND ARE TRYING IBUPROFEN (OR SOMETHING ELSE) AND YOU WANT TO NOT GET A SCRIPT THIS TIME...THAT LEAVES YOUR HUBBY OPEN..G/L
