Thanks everybody for your suggestions, I still haven't figured out what to do, i mean outpatient I'd happening I know that much but as far as pain management goes I'm still considering options
In my area outpatient is very good. I am by Chicago so we have a huge drug problem. It is getting worse in the suburbs. Even in the really nice areas.
It is done like rehab but you don't stay there. You can have I tensile where you are doing all day or evening or where it is several times s week. My ex is i outpatient now. He goes 3 times a week for group and then individual one time. It all depends too on your insurance. And what and howuch you need.
Don't let others bad experiences deter you.
The only thing I know that would be offered is methadone Suboxone or visteral maybe. Methadone would be the only one that helps with any pain.
But you have to really think before you do that. It would probably be the clinic dosing setting. But it is controlled.
Outpatient though will help you get in the right mindset. You have group meetings daily or several times a week. You should go to AA or NA between. You get individual therapy too. You get immersed in your recovery. It helps if you do it 100%.
You can talk to them about your pain too. Maybe they would help with options.
In my area we have an outpatient rehab center that garauntees success from drug addiction. What ********! These kids are sent to our local N/A mtgs after 3/4 weeks of outpatient therapy and suboxone treatment. After 1 week, no lie, we NEVER see them again. One of these kids was my middle sons friend that i've known for quite awhile...he told me when finished with the program, they take you off the subs and thats where the majority of people go back to their doc.
My opinion, if your considering rehab, inpatient for at least 90 days....i know its hard with work, bills, etc...but we have to STOP....literally....and take the time we need to to fix ourselves. To not miss a beat....is unrealistic.
Dear Fly. It's the pills that give us that sneaky feeling. You will get thru this but it doesn't have to be secret. Have you done other distructive things in your marriage?
I go to NAMI support groups. They are free & in every major city & online.
It's amazing but mental Heath support groups are like AA & NA. Except they don't put you down for taking your Dr prescribed mental health medicine.
IMO get evaluated by a Psychiatrist. Most of us self medicated to eliviate mental pain. Other safer drugs can help.
My personal experience with outpatient hospital wasn't great. So I won't put unnecessary ideas into your head.
You will hear something from someone that will make sense to you & trigger your behavior. That's why we are all different & we take our personal time & energy to help. We are friends now. Maxy
Do you have a Pain Mgt Dr for your chronic pain? Is that where you were getting your pills from? My Pain Mgt Doc does shots in my back and neck if I need them but I found that once I stopped the pills I wasnt in as much pain as when I was on them! I havent needed to see him for any shots at all! And you for sure shouldnt be keeping secrets from your wife! Do you have a support system at all? Meetings, therapy...anything? That is going to be vital to you staying clean! If you go into outpatient treatment they will offer you counseling and groups which will be really helpful with recovery! You have to make the commitment to do it though! Youll keep relapsing until you are ready to do whatever it takes to saty clean!!! Keep posting and let us know how you are doing!!
You have to want this for you first and foremost. Trying to hide your relapse from your wife isnt the way to go. You have to get real honest with yourself, You will lose more than just your wife, Your life is on the line here. Check into rehab and get the help you need, You deserve it~
