7th Day on Cymbalta, everything the same as before

I have been taking Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days.
Days 1 - 3, some side effects including insomnia, dizziness, dry mouth.
Day 4, the side effects got really bad.
During this period, I had no emotion, didn't care about anything, anxiety was kind of reduced.
After day 4, all side effects were gone, and everything has been the same as before, including my anxiety level.  I haven't taken anything else.

Is this normal?  Thanks.

The therapeutic lag is usually 3 to 4 weeks. The first side-effects from the fact that you are taking a new drug are usually lasting no more than 1 week and I see you made it in 4 days.

Wait another 3 weeks and you should see gradual improvement or even one day you will wake up feeling like a new person. Don't give up hope. Cymbalta is an extremely potent and efficient AD. The cost is that yeah it's expansive hehe but it's terribly hard to stop.

Thanks Paxiled.  Sorry I haven't been checking this post.

I am on 30 mg right now so I don't know if I need to go up to 60 mg in order to see a difference.  I did mention my concern about liver damage to my doctor, but he said that it's never heard of, and when I asked if there's any adverse side effects of this drug, he told me that there's none.  His response did get me worried, because it's different from what I had read.

If it doesn't work for you, don't wait a long time past the six weeks to try something else.  This med is usually used for depression, not as much if anxiety is the primary problem.  The manufacturer is now trying to get this med approved for fibromyalgia and pain control, and some concerns have come out during the FDA review about liver toxicity, so I would investigate this med with your doc and again, if after a couple months it doesn't work, don't stay on it.  (All of these meds are to a certain extent liver toxic, so it doesn't mean never take it, but it might mean having to get your liver enzymes checked regularly, which hasn't been being done with snris at the moment.  I had to do it when I was on tricyclics).
