I too have this problem. Was just at the ER yesterday for 6 hours. Husbands mad at me for going. I get the pains in my chest one side or the other and in the meaty part of my left arm. Had EKG done and bloodwork. Doc said everything looked fine but stress and anxiety could be the cause. I get the sick feeling and shortness of breath for a sec or so. Sometimes my heart will feel like it skips a beat or i cant get a full breath. I went and seen a WITCH DOCTOR. She put me on LGW for gallbladder symptoms,i drink Aloe Vera Juice. it for the reconstructing of my esophagus from GERD. and i take 7-10 Stress And Tension Relief Globules by Similisan. She really helped me. Im not as stressed and tensed and can think clearly and im not taking prescribed meds for Anxiety anymore

I've had recently a series of what i call nervous legs - especially the left leg. It starts at the sole of my foot and seems to rise to a very irritating sensation? Has anyone experienced this- i dont cramp, its not a charlie horse but it does take over and causes me to become anxious-

Having pains in my "heart" today.  And of course, down my left arm and in my jaw because that's what I know are the "symptoms."  Trying my best not to run to the ER yet again.  I saw my cardiologist in January and everything was fine so I'm praying that it still is and this is just anxiety as it usually is.  I just took a Klonopin to try to calm me down although I still don't feel quite right.

It is so amazing how each and every one of us sounds the same. I have all these symptoms all the time and have gone to the ER so many times, I even switched hospitals because they knew me in the one I kept going to.

hi thanks for posting its helps to know other people experience the same things, and yes i have had symptoms on and off after the birth of my son 14 years ago and at the time i was in a bad relationship too. i have recently had an ECG and my blood pressure done which were normal, the thought i need to get rid of is i always worry my heart has "gone bad" since i had the tests!!!!

one funny story i have is ages ago when i smoked i was driving down our main road having a cig threw it out the windows 2 mins later i had a massive burning pain in my chest felt all hot sick etc so i pulled over convinced this was it, as i rubbed my chest i could smell smoke and when i looked the cig had blown back in and gone down my top!!!! lol looking back i can laugh now but at the time i panicked like hell

crazy eh???

Hi Joanna

I know exactly how you feel, I too suffer from anxiety.

Infact quite recently I had the same symptoms (Left arm pain, chest etc) So I waited until about 5 in the morning and went to my local hospital, it was great it was only me and a handful of drunks waiting to be seen . I was in an out in no time an told ECG normal, blood pressure etc normal. I asked the doctor what causes this, he told me many things , stress, anxiety, drugs among others. Although there was nothing wrong with me and I felt I kind of wasted their time, the doctor told me that I done the right thing as these symptoms can obviously not be ignored.

If you too have had blood pressure tested and ECG done, then try not too worry so much, I know its not as easy as it sounds.

I found my anxiety has been twice as bad since the birth of my daughter, I have the usual fears of death and concerns of what I would leave behind. But for the sake of her and myself I just try hard to get on with it and try and enjoy myself.

Anxiety is a terrible thing it really is , I will tell you a good one though to cheer us up, I remember a while back I was getting a ringing sound in my head at nights, it terrified me and I had my girl/f tortured asking her every 2 minutes could she hear it, this went on and off for weeks and I was worried to death that something was wrong with my head, when I finally put two and two together I discovered that I mostly sleep with my left arm under my pillow and the ringing was coming from the mechanism in my watch lol

Anyway best of luck, keep us posted
Mark

Not to worry. I'm doing fine. Keep me posted on your progress. And I will do the same. The Ativan works for me. It just takes the edge off and they are on an as needed basis so it's not something you have to take everyday or worry about forgetting. Somedays I take 3 a day and then I go for a week or so and don't have to take any. They work!

I've had some pain today too. I just keep working through it. I'm here at work with people and I know if something does go wrong, they'll make sure I get the care I need. It does not sound crazy (not wanting to leave your son). I think that us anxiety people need a reason to fight it and your son is that reason. I also have a constant fear of death. My doctor just put me on Zoloft. He said that in time it will not only help the panic disorder but also subdue my phobias. We just need to hang in there. Relax and take care of ourselves! Watch your symptoms. You know your body better than anyone (including your husband) so if you feel in your heart that something is wrong with your health, please go to the ER. Take another family member or even a friend with you. There are tons of people you can depend on!

my name is joanna im at home at the moment, sometimes i feel better when my son is home because i think in my head i cant leave him, does that sound crazy?  my husband isnt very supportive i asked him come to hospital with me but he wont because he said im fine have colour in my cheeks etc i cant really blame him i go through this so often its just that each bad session seems a 1000 times worse than the last and my fear of death over rules everything, do you have the similar pains that last all day? i normally have a couple of "normal" days but cant remember having one for a while now!!!!
thanks for chatting it helps me to know others have similar symptoms, i dont feel as alone

The only way to be sure is to have your self checked by a doctor.Although I do have to say that my sibling also has anxiety and he too gets the tightness in the chest and pain down the arm...Just try to relax. If you start to feel worse then maybe you should get checked out by a doctor just to be sure..I really hope you feel better..

My husband often tells me to think back about all the times I've had the pain before. It always passes and I always live through it, even though it seems like I can't. That helps alot. What is your name? It often helps me to have someone close by like my husband, mom or dad. There is just something comforting about them being there. I bet when you get home in your comfort zone, the pain will go away and you will feel relieved and safe. Just keep looking forward to that moment!

im not breathless, the pain is down my left arm and in my chest it isnt there permenant it comes and goes sometimes hurting more than others my pulse is 80 which is quite low for me as its normally 90 odd i dont even feel particularly anxious only when the pain comes then i get scared. the bad thing about our hospitals is you can be in there for 4hrs before your even seen which makes it even more unpleasant im dreading goin to bed incase i dont wake up

My name is Mindy and I am 29 years old. I have a wonderfully supportive husband and parents. Today I took and ativan and tried to breath slowly. I took my pulse and it was in normal range (between 60 and 100). Then I came here to talk to someone and it worked. I have good days and bad days. Today was a medium day. I can tell it's going to be one of those days where I'm afraid to drive or be alone but I keep going. I vowed that this "thing" was not going to control me. Somedays it does but that just means I work even harder the next day. By no means am I an expert and I still have days that I don't even want to get out of bed but I make myself. Test yourself for a heart attack. Is your pulse abnormal? Do you have shortness of breath? Do you have pain in the center of your chest that radiates to your neck, jaw, shoulderblades or arm? Has the pain been constant? If the answer is yes to all of these questions, I would go to the ER. Don't be afraid of hospitals. That's the one place you should feel safe. The can help with the heart attack or even just the panic attack. I think it would ease your mind to at least get checked out and then get some rest. I hope this helps. Keep talking if it makes you feel better!

I have actually been to the ER like 20x in the past year. For heart attack symptoms, headaches, etc. With my anxiety I get the textbook heart attack symptoms - chest pain, left arm pain, pain in my shoulder blades, sweating, heart palpitations etc. As a matter of fact, I just had a panic attack about 30 min. ago and came to this forum for help myself. I take Ativan. If you take something like that now would be a good time to pop one. During on of my stays in the hospital a nurse told me that heart attack pain doesn't come and go. It comes and stays and grows progressively worse. I just try to think about that and work through it. Also, try having your gall bladder tested. My digestive system is screwed up too and it like anxiety also exhibits heart attack like symptoms.

If you really feel that your heart is the culprit, go to the ER. Even if it's a panic attack a diagnosis by the ER might put your mind at ease. I've been there and I too have an underlying fear that I am going to have a heart attack but mine is anxiety. I can't say that about you for sure. Have you had or are you at risk for hear trouble?
