Always worried about seeing and hearing things...double checking etc...???

Im always double checking myself, and all it takes is thinking I might of seen something that isnt there and im in a panic!

Like today at work you get an email bleep...when an email arrives - and I thought I heard it twice and checked...but no emails...now im worried im going bonkers and im hearing things? Is thinking you are hearing things like that mad, or ok?!?

Does anyone else get this? Im also always double checking if I see something? Its like im looking for something to be amiss!

I think You're just over concerned, if this has been a constant problem and not just happened recently in Your life I would see a therapist as double checking can be a trait of obsessive compulsive disorder although I am sure by now You would have noticed more than one symptom or it being more difficult.
It would still be helpful to have it ruled out. You sound like You're worried about this and in doing this You are over reacting to noise and movement.

Thinking you're hearing or seeing things does not indicate inanity! It may indicate that you should have your hearing and vision checked by an EENT. I think at this point you ARE looking for something to be amiss. Get a check-up and then we'll consider other options for what may be causing this.
