Anxiety, Depression, Panic -- Magnesium

Hello,

I made a post at the below address about how Magnesium supplementation has helped or cured people of many mental, emotional and physical conditions.  Do some research on google, forums found through google, and the magnesium reviews on vitamin websites.  There are plenty of success stories.  Using a good formula is a big part of the success.

Hi everyone, just need a bit if advice. I've been suffering with anxiety on and off since I was 17, now 24! It's been at it's worst since I suffered a miscarriage in April. The doctors have prescribed me 20mg citalopram which was a last resort to having felt no better after 5 weeks. Been dreadful. I'm having counselling which is helping and acupuncture too. My acupuncturist recommended taking a magnesium
supplement, a good multivitamin and diet advice to help maintain the anxiety. And to bath in Epsom salt once a week. I want to be off the prescription medicine soon as I know it's not a cure. And to be honest I would much rather taking a supplement and a multivitamin than the prescription medicine! Please advise me it's just a hard place to be in sometimes

Hi  Have been taking a magnesium supplement for a week now and my anxiety has completely disappeared. Have suffered with anxiety and depression for 20 years tried all sorts of meds and taking magnesium has made me feel normal again.  Have had a vegetarian diet for the past 20 years which could explain my low magnesium levels.

Also:

"I recently had a bad bout of GAD!!  I could not sleep, woke up with anxiety attacks and had no appetite.  I read that 87% of women had
low magnesium and that factor could cause anxiety.  I started taking 400  mgs. of magnesium ( daily dose ) and by the second day I felt
much better.  The morning anxiety attacks disappeared and my appetite came back.  i feel I might be on to something.  I would love to hear
any feedback regarding my post."

These are some wonderful testimonials on magnesium, found on posts online:

"Help for your ANXIETY??

First of all, I'm not staying that all those treatments before mentioned don't work, but for me, I stumbled across something I'd like to share with you all who are suffering from anxiety.

Thank God for this mineral!! I have suffered with severe anxiety symptoms for about 20 years. Three weeks ago I began the Atkins diet, so I continued taking my multivitamin and bought an additional magnesium
supplement to take to cut down on the muscle cramps and twitches sometimes caused from this diet. All of a sudden, after about 2 weeks on the magnesium, I noticed that my irritability, anxiety, fear, fatigue, and mild depression were gone!! I am being much nicer and friendlier to people now. I feel like my eyes have been opened to a whole new world!! I am no longer afraid to face people!! Before, I mistook it as extreme shyness. Everyone thought I was being mean or stuckup. I didn't want to walk into a room with anyone in it, nor make a simple phone call to take care of business! I would actually wait until the business closed so I could leave a message on their voice mail and not have to talk to them directly!! When I would go into a restaurant, I would make sure that I sat to where I was facing no one! I have not gone to social or school functions because my anxiety was so crippling!! When a date would suggest an outing such as swimming, I could never go, due to my anxiety of drowning! I've missed out on so much!! I feel so fortunate that I discovered the wonders of magnesium by chance. I love life now!! I finally feel like I'm free!!!!

Since finding this miracle mineral, I've done some research and found out that it can also help children who suffer from ADD or ADHD and can also curb migraines!! Anyone who has this same type of anxiety, PLEASE try a magnesium supplement for just 2-3 weeks and see if it makes a difference! Sure beats having to take all kinds of prescribed anxiety meds, and cheaper too! If you try the magnesium and it works wonders for you as it has me, please reply to my post and post your own testimonial to help others, as I have tried to do!  :)"

"As I increased my magnesium intake, my agoraphobia left over a period of a month or so.
Brown rice bread, broccoli, salmon, designer whey protein (30% DV magnesium & zinc, 100% vitamin B6 per scoop).
Magnesium, Zinc, and B6 all needed to help with production of dopamine and GABA, two important neurotransmitters for social anxiety.

I was not doing anything else different in my life when it left, but had to go to the stores to get my food anyway :P

Just consider your food intake, it makes a difference."

Here's an online Amazon review of someone that took magnesium:

"I began taking this product 3 weeks ago for Panic Attacks and Anxiety. After YEARS on various Prescription drugs I recently heard about the effects of Magnesium Taurate on Panic/Anxiety. So far I have cut back to half the dose of Zoloft (which I've taken for the past 4 years) and 75% LESS Clonazepam! Hoping to be prescription Rx free very soon! I'm extremely happy with this product and would suggest it highly."

Blessings.  :)
