Anxiety drugs

One week ago my Dr changed my medication.  I was taking 150mg of Wellbutrin and 8mg of Zanax a day.  I have been on this medicine for about 10 years starting out at a much lower dosage.  I DO NOT suffer from depression as I have told my Dr.  I have built up immunity to these drugs and he switched me to 30mg Paxil, and 1mg Klonopin.                                                                                         Since the change I feel very tingly all over, arms and feet are cold,Penis when erect fills very different and have erections for prolonged period, dizziness, muscle aching, Insomnia and when I go to sleep my head will jerk 2 or 3 times.  I have high Anxiety that is the reason for the medication as mentioned.  NO Panic Attacks!  In your opinion which drug or drugs is causing the side effects?

There are a lot of side effects with these drugs initially, even if you have taken a med with no problems in the past.

Your symptoms are a little atypical of the common side effects, so it's definitely worth running all of this by your doctor.

I also would question your doctor about the transition from the Xanax to Klonopin.  A rough comparison of doses show that Xanax 0.5mg equals about 0.25mg of Klonopin.  Your Xanax dose was quite high, and if you're only taking the Klonopin once a day, you are probably having some significant w/d symptoms.  IMO, you should've been tapered down to a lower dose over time, if that's what the goal was.  Even though Klonopin is longer acting compared to the Xanax, your initial dose of the Klonopin is likely too low, causing a withdrawal phenomenon.

Have a discussion with your doc about these issues, give him a call today.

Sorry if this is a dumb question.
But have you tried complimentary medicines therpaies to treat your anxiety ?
I mean - accupncture, meditation, bio-feedback ?
also , have you tried CBT ?

I wish you the best.
