Anxiety resulting from Clarithromycin side effects
About a month ago I was prescribed a course of Clarithromycin for a skin infection. Since taking the drug I've suffered huge surges of adrenaline, which kicks in like a lighting shot at the point of sleep. It kept me away many nights and I was beside myself with worry. It's now more than three weeks since I stopped the medication (I only completed 2.5 days out of 7) and I find that the adrenaline surges have subsided somewhat. But what I've left with is a sense of anxiety which makes falling asleep very hard. Don't know if anybody out there has suffered something similar? Is my body trying to adjust to a disturbed sleep pattern or do I need to seek help to adjust to life post drug allergy?
I took one dose of clarithromycin in a PrevPac yesterday (first day) and I started having chest pains last evening, anxiety (suicidal thoughts), weakness, couldn't think, etc..I'm stopping immediately. Just continuing with the Amoxicillin.
