Keep up with the counseling. I know when we go we want changes to happen right away. It does'nt happen that way though, it is a process.
Is it getting cold where you live? I'm asking because maybe you could take the girls to a mall or some other indoor place to walk.
I understand you fear of taking the Topamax. I have the same fear of taking new meds.
Hang in there, okay. You're in counseling and that's a really good thing.
Yes, I am in counciling an it seems to help! However, nothing helps when I feel weird or just not right! I'm kinda down, jus unhappy with myself an the way I look! My girls an I were walking a mile a day an I just gave up! My doc gave me a script for Topamax to help me get started with the weight loss but I'm so afraid of medicine!!! I just don't really kno what to do, I want to get back to my old self where I don't constantly think there is something wrong with me and my health......
You did get back in to counseling? That's great. Can you get out and take a walk with your girls everyday? It will help your anxiety, help the girls and help you lose weight if you're concerned about that. I hope you're feeling better. So many people I know are sick right now. It's already that time of year for those nasty viruses.
Thanks for your advice! I kno what ur saying is true but its so hard for me to accept! I guess you could say I'm at a point in my life where I'm unhappy with myself!! I'm overweight, always worried about my health, alays in a bad mood an a single mother of three girls! It's hard for me!! I just want to feel good about myself again! I recently got back into councling an I'm hoping it can help...
You already know the answer! ;0)
Of COURSE it could be your nerves exacerbating the symptoms of the viral infection. Us anxious people are good at doing that. That's the cycle of anxiety for you!
Employ your coping mechanisms, try to stay as busy as possible, because the more you sit around and worry, the worse you will feel. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to something like this.
Anxiety sufferers also need to be proactive. If you feel you're having a bit more anxiety than you were before, then get back to the doctor, therapist, and get back to doing the things you know work for you in addressing your anxiety. The faster we start dealing with a reemergence of anxiety, usually the quicker we can get it back under control.
Hang in there hon!
The mind is very powerful and may be making your symptoms worse than what they are, try and relax, have a nice hot bath, read a book or do anything that may help take your mind off it x
