At this point I'm annoyed.

Over the past five years I have developed a mild/moderate case of ocd regarding my heart health and am now hypersensitive and aware of any changes, which brings upon periodic anxiety and panic attacks.  I am 31, 5'10", 200lbs., and am in good shape (workout 5 times a week heavy cardio and some weights).  I had a massive freak out about 5 yrs ago due to taking too many caffeine pills and went to the ER in an ambulance as I thought I was going to have a heart attack...since then I have lost 30lbs gotten in good shape, but have had 8-9 trips to the Dr. for heart issues and countless panic attacks regarding the state of my heart which sends it racing.  I've had ECG (3-4), Stress Tests, Nuclear Tests and all came out fine.  I am now in better shape then I have been in over eight years and, as a result had this in check; over the past two weeks, however, I have had a pain in my chest (one inch from center on left side), occassional left armpit pain, occassional inner left arm pain, which rarely radiates down to the end of my left middle finger.  This comes and goes throughout the day almost every day, but my workouts are fine, after my workouts are fine...it's when I'm at rest.  Could I be sleeping on my arm wrong?  But wouldn't muscle pain be constant?  I'm totally at a loss here and really do not want to make another trip to the Dr. only to be told it's nothing.  If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.  If it helps, I enjoy drinking socially, binged heavily in my twenties and had a four-year relationship with a certain "white lady" which ended five years ago...though I doubt any of this is carrying over due to my performances on the many tests I have had.

When I'm feeling the worst anxiety, it does make me have armpit, left arm pain / jolts or burning in addition to chest pain on and off all day, too.  Some of it is weird stuff, like my arm will actually "buzz"!  I often question that too, whether I strained a muscle or pinched a nerve, seeking some rational explanation, but the pain is so diffuse and moves around, I really can't say.  I can't say conclusively but, from personal experience anyway, it does sound like it COULD be anxiety about your heart that is causing you to be aware of these sensations.    Aside from talking to the doctor about the heart condition, have you spoken with them about the anxiety over your heart?  It might send the conversation in a slightly different - and more helpful - direction.   If you've already gotten confirmation that your heart is fine, there are other things that you can do, and that your doctor can help you with, to better manage and alleviate the anxiety that may be causing these pains (breathing right, therapy, stress reduction, or if you and the doctor decide you need it, medicines are available).

Something that helped me - when I saw the doctor this week for similar pains (mine went away, then came back) the doctor told me that the nerves that go to your left arm, heart, neck, esophagus, and other parts are connected, so sometimes its difficult for the brain to sort out exactly where a pain is coming from.  That's why sometimes when we have belly pain we can feel it in our chest.  An anxious person is very sensitive to ANY change going on in the body whatsoever, however harmless, and may interpret these mixed sensations that are really not a big deal or normal (ex. a gas bubble) as something way more serious.  Anyway, this was helpful information for me, I hope it helps you a little bit too.

Its good that you turned your life around, by getting healthier and more active. Its a great for your heart. So you shouldnt worry about your heart anymore. Especially if all test were Ok! Sorry, when ever you feel anxious about your heart, ignore it. It will go away. Because your freting over nothing, because your fine. The arm pain, could be just arm pain. It could be the fact that your sleeping on it. But it might be the weights. Try lowering the weights for a while.
Also the chest pain, that could just be down to Anxiety. Anxiety causes chest pain sometimes. And it can cause a whole load of symptoms. But your obviously fine. Try going in for therapy to help you through it!
