Thanks for your responses. My heart pain is being caused by my thyroid medication being too strong. I'm hyperthryoid.
Had no problems with 2mg of Ativan--no side effects and works fine with how I take it. Been on it a long while now.
I like the short duration because I have children to keep up with.
Thanks again for comments/help.
Hi, chigirl. Ativan is a great medication for an as needed basis but you really shouldn't take it for too long because it loses efficacy too quickly. For example, if you currently take 2mg a day, in a year the 2mg won't be enough. I find that clonazepam is the best benzo for long term treatment of panic/anxiety. It has a very long half life and will not lose efficacy. The target does is 0.5 mg b.i.d. I'm no doctor but I do know a bit about this stuff and only want the best for you. Hope all goes well.

So,, as if anxiety wasnt bad enough,, your also catching crud by others about using a benzopine to control it? Im sorry,, that sucks, you've got enought to deal with.
Anyhow... you say your heart hurts, Im assuming you mean chest pain? Im assuming also that you've been to the doctor probably repeatedly for the symptoms? I never had heart/chest pain during anxiety, but Iv had lots of palpations. Does your arm hurt too or just your chest?
*Blessings to you today*
