Good luck to you all.  My husband was on it for six months at the suggestion of his chiro.  Four pills then down to 2.  This normal loving man turned into this raging angry depressed confrontational person and the only thing different was the pills.  It was getting close to my leaving him when my daughter had an intervention and got him to throw them away.   After four days he is just about back to himself and cannot believe how different he feels.  Beware!!!

it works for me! i got it from my chiro a few years ago due to low adrenal function, which was leading to my anxiety. it helps a whole mess of things. it's different from person to person i'm sure, but it really helps me. everything functions better when you aren't riddled with anxiety.

Best to see a naturopath, but there's a good formula by Herb Pharm for the urinary tract.  Cranberry is very useful, as is uva ursi, for preventing bacteria from lodging in the urinary tract.  Goldenseal is a good antibiotic for the urinary tract.  Dandelion leaf and parsley are good diuretics to keep everything flowing.  Planetary Formulas also makes a formula called Diurite that might help.  But the cystitis makes it more complicated than your usual uti, so again, I'd see a naturopath about this.

My instincts can be fuzzy at times. My chiro is a family friend and well respected in the community, so I tend to trust his judgment - especially considering his own experiences with anxiety and his track record of helping others through it. My anxiety is episodic - it didn't hit me until I turned 50, and everyone I see agrees that it should not be chronic or long lasting.

Do you know anything about natural stuff to treat painful bladder conditions, cystitis, etc.?

Always follow your instincts, not mine.  I can offer general advice because I know natural stuff well, but you are the only you.  Good luck to you and let me know how it goes.

Of all the doctors and therapists I've seen, this one is the only person that has been where I've been and felt what I've felt. He took one look at me and wrote "anxiety" on his notepad before I had hardly said anything. No one else has been able to say, do this and you get better, been there myself.

So I don't know...like you say, it's not out of the ballpark, and I'm willing to follow the lead of someone who has been there.

Watch out for chiropractors dispensing remedies.  It's not their forte, it's not what they studied, they do it to make more money.  And remedies made for professionals often have good reputations because professionals like to keep it that way; since they're the only ones who can sell them, it locks you in to them for your supply.  Michael's is a better company for glandulars, in my opinion, but my opinion is just that, my opinion.

Thanks for your comments! I'm tapering off of xanax right now, but I was only taking .25 mg a day, so my xanax dosage was never that high. My Chiro is the one that gave me the DSF, and I'm going back in to see him Monday. I'm taking 4 a day right now, and seem to be doing OK.

The DSF is made by Nutri-West, and AFAICT they have a real good reputation.

All you can do is try it.  I wouldn't take it, but that's just me.  Don't really like glandulars, as they can be storage for toxins and cows ain't people.  You have two potential problems here for anxiety:  adrenal glandular could pump up your adrenals, making even more production of cortisol likely.  Now, it could also balance and strengthen your adrenals, just adding a caution here.  The same is possible with the amino acid tyrosine -- it's most often used for depression or anxiety as a concomitant symptom of depression, because it also targets norepinephrine.  Taurine would be the better one, since it makes GABA.  Tyrosine also helps make GABA, but it has that other function that could result in added anxiety.  The magnesium is in the least absorbable form, oxide.  You might absorb it, you might not.  The chromium is great if you have blood sugar problems; if you don't, it could make you feel a bit tired.  Probably won't notice it.  The Bs are good ones, the dosages are high -- a Stress B is more balanced, but this one is targeting the right Bs in high dosages.  So it might help, might not.  If I were going to take a glandular, I'd be very careful about the vitamin company to make sure they only used naturally raised animals, to avoid the hormones, antibiotics, and bad food they use on commercial animals.  But as I say, only way you'll find out is to try it.  It's not out of the  ballpark.  You can do better, however, seeing a naturopath and formulating a program that is more tailored to your personal situation, and go through the trial and error of trying different things.  For example, there aren't any relaxant herbs in there and there's nothing directly targeting serotonin.  Good luck whatever you do.
