Hey!:) yes you're right stress can trigger it,by increasing tension, you know what I realized in health anxiety?i am oversensitive to every little sensation/pain and focusing on it makes it a big issue which is in reality not.My herniated disc however is real and it's badly pressuring my nerve roots,I've been in bad sciatica for like 5-6 months and it's not getting better,or worse,it's exactly the same,it's like a vicious cycle for me now, sciatica makes me a lot in bed because walking make things a lot worse, being a lot less active makes me think negatively, let alone the fact I really don't get along with my dad, never did, planning on changing house,it's unbearable living with him honestly, cursing each other all the time, that's not normal. So the point is to keep my mind busy so I will focus on the real things..I am going to a neurosurgeon next week, what was your cause of sciatica?

Hi there.  Wow, really sorry for your  discomfort.  Sounds pretty overwhelming.  I do indeed think it has everything to do with stress, anxiety and the time you are spending in bed due to the sciatica.  Honestly, I've had sciatica and that is very painful.  It's been a journey me to overcome different things.  I was in a car accident and have pain in my neck, maybe even where you are speaking of.  I was fortunate to see both an excellent physical therapist and massage therapist.  This really helped me.  Stress now triggers that neck pain and headaches. And when I say neck, the muscles behind my ear go into the back of my head and that is where I feel the pain.  For me, it is on one side.  And again, it flairs up with stress, anxiety, when I'm tired, driving long distances, etc.  The massage therapist and physical therapist also helped tremendously with the sciatica.

Stretching and massage were the two things that have helped the pain be a rare occurrence.  A good PT or massage therapist can work on both of those with you.

So, have you seen anyone for the sciatica and head muscular pain?
