How to overcome my anxiety of needles

Ok I'm a 15 year old male who has had many shots in life. Not in recent past though. My cousins always talked about fear of needles, and until that time I didn't mind them. Now they are the scariest things. At least I think remember I haven't had a shot recently except for at the dentist. I have readabout passing out when recieving a shot, although would that happen to me since I never have before? Do numbing solutions work? I am scared to death of my next vaccine, so does anyone have any solutions? I suppose reading about 23 recorded deaths from recieving a shot and passing out did mee in. Would anti anxiety medicines work? Thanks much.

reading about it dont help it will just heighten your anxiety, the recorded deaths are tragic, but in comparrison to the success rate of themit do put it in to a prospective, just tell your fears to the person who is going to give you the needle ask any questions you need to ask and remember they cannot force you to have anything done that you dont wish to have done.

Take a noisemaker with you to the doctor's office, the kind that is coiled up but when you blow on it, it uncoils and sticks out.  When it's time for a shot, have the nurse or doctor count "1, 2, 3" and at "3," you blow on the noisemaker, and she or the doctor gives you the shot.  The whole thing is so funny and ridiculous, and it also makes you feel like less of a victim, so it works pretty well.  Shots are not in fact very painful, and doing this puts the whole thing back into perspective.

Ask them to use a pediatric needle for a while.  Explain your situation.  Also, ask if you can use a syringe to practice giving shots on an orange for a while. Perhaps bring an orange to the Dr.s office and do it under their supervision.  Stop reading about things that will scare you and make you paranoid.  Change your thoughts.  You have already done it many times.  Practice relaxation techniques before you go to the office. Learn BEFORE you go.  It is all a state of mind.  You can do it.  Your thoughts are creating your fear.
