Is this Anxiety yet again?

Hi all, haven't posted a question for quite awhile...Had a bad bout with anxiety last winter now I am wondering if it is back again.  I the last two weeks I have felt very tired and shakey, my head and body feels like is buzzing my arms may feel numb, then I get so scared I have a panic attack.  My doctors and friends say that my anxiety is back in a new form - I am not convinced.  I have been very anxious yes from feeling this way but it seems more of a health issue.  I am being tested for Lymes Disease and MS etc. and in the mean time I have started to take Zoloft (which helped me a great deal last year) and the occasional 1/2 a Xanax.  Does anyones elses anxiety take on this form?  Where ya feel pretty crappy all the time?

I will have to wait it out for awhile now that I am back on the Zoloft I have the side effects which are similiar to how I was feeling to begin with.  I have missed allot of work and have even taken time off of my Marshal Arts class because I am to weak???  These Minnesota winters can really do me in!!  Anyone have similar problems?  Thanks Erin

I'm glad to hear you sleep well.  That's good!  I hope all your tests come out clear because then at least you'll know for sure it's SADD and not something really serious.  Unfortunately, Winter does seem to roll around each year, doesn't it?  The attacks can be crazy, I agree.  I don't normally have serious anxiety attacks although I did in 07 and they were just terrifying!  Usually just the body buzzing, internal shakiness, etc.

No, no children.  I have had a problem sleeping since teen years.  I take 1mg of Xanax at night, but that's it.  I took AD's for 24yrs of my life, but have been AD free for the last 5yrs.  While AD's can be a blessing for lots of people, just not for me.  I just hate how they blunt my emotions.

It was nice talking to you too, Erin.  I can't wait for Spring also.  I do seem to feel better once the Winter months pass.  Relatively anyway. : )

Take care...

Hey there, thanks for your words and compliments!  Yes I have been feeling great up until January.  Every year around this time I get a little weird, I guess it's pretty common in the cold winters.

I sleep pretty well, I had problems last year when I started the Zoloft but it got better.  I quit taking it in July, now I have started again.  My doctor says lots of people take it for the winter months to treat SADD - a Seasonal Disorder.  I think that's what I get.  I was just out to dinner with the family and felt fine then all the sudden I got so dizzy I felt I might throw up.  I did some deep breathing and it went away.  CRAZY!

4-5 hours of sleep is not much - do you have little kids?  Do you take anything for your anxiety?  There is lots of help for it.  It doesn't hurt to get yourself tested for somethings, I think it helps to lesson the anxiety.  I had a bad attack out of the blue two weeks ago and I thought for sure I was having a stroke, I was terrified!  So I felt I better cover all my bases and make sure there isn't something else I need to take care of.

Can't wait until Spring!  Nice talking with ya, Erin

Yep, feel like **** ALL the time.  Have all the symptoms you describe.  Like you, I am not necessarily convinced this is all anxiety, but I've felt this way for so long, I'm now starting to wonder if it's not something more serious like MS or Lymes like you say.  I don't have health anxiety meaning I don't constantly think I have something awful.....just have always thought this is just the way I am.  Starting to wonder though because I seem to feel worse as the years go by.

Do you sleep well?  Has some issue been effecting your sleep since last Winter?  I never get more than 4 or 5 interupted hours of sleep, and I'm pretty sure that has alot to do why I feel so poorly and anxious all the time.

I am assuming you've been feeling well since you were posting last.  Any problem with sleep lately?

Btw....I remember you clearly because I admired your art so much.  Would love to see some of it hanging on my wall. : )  You're really talented!

Hope you feel better soon or get some kind of medical answer.  It generally seems to turn out to be anxiety though. *sigh*
