Xanax withdrawal - Medicines for insomina?

I been off xanax now for 11-12 days now I still have the shakes and a pre-existing stomach condition...

I have not slept since I went off it then...I try beneidryl as well, but that was during the severe times last week and still very bad...

Can I take a sleep aid, that won't slow the withdrawal down and what can it be?

I was on xanax .25 for 2+ months btw...used as a pain reliver/sleep aid...

You have been PMing me for a few weeks now and we have talked at GREAT length about these issues. Just this morning you told me you were feeling much better, felt you were regaining control, and yet, here you are again with the same questions and concerns that we've already gone over.

Xanax .25 MG 3x a day will not cause you to withdraw as bad as you're saying. So It cannot be that. .25MG isn't that addicting at all really. Maybe 3MG 3x a day. Lay down In bed, and force your self to sleep, even if you lay there for 7 hours awake, as long as your eyes are closed SOME neurons in the brain are being refreshed.

I would ask where did your xanax go? Why did you suddenly stop? You need to ween yourself off of any benzo for 3-4 weeks before stopping.

Try taking two Tylenol PMs for a few nights and see if that helps any. Some have had very good success using PMs to ween off of certain meds that they are taking. Good luck!
