Battling With An Unkown Condition

My name is Caitlin, I'm 19 years old. I have been suffering with very frequent dizzy spells between 15-20 times a day which cause me an extreme amount of anxiety because I have a small toddler daughter that I care for around the clock. I suffer from sinus infections often as well as migranes for the past 6 years. THERE IS NO RELIEF!!! The dizzy spells allow me to become extremely unco-ordinate and to fall over in some instances. I can't walk straight as I seem to drift over to one side. I've explained the feeling to my family doctor as a synthetic "drunk" feeling. I've had blood & thryoid test done & all are normal. I can't seem to get ennough rest either & I get between 7-10 hours of sleep a day. I would love to be able to feel like a normal, young woman again & be able to feel happy as these symptoms have been causing me to become depressed. PLEASE !!! I NEED AN ANSWER !!!

Hi,

Hmm i'm not sure about the migraines and sinus infections - i think those two could be connected with each other but perhaps not with the dizziness. I assume you don't have sinistitus or an allergy of any kind as these would be likely causes. Ruling out allergy and as you said thyroid/blood tests i might have to agree with HarmonyMom that this could be a case of dehydration or anemia (tho i guess they checked anemia in the bloods).

If you are underweight or undernourished then migraines and dizziness would certainly occur, also you mentioned anxiety as a side effect - it's worth noting that this could equally be a cause especially if you are constantly worried about caring for your little girl. Does the anxiety happen before the attacks or is it only after an episode you feel anxious?

The only other things that spring to mind are two things that my mother suffered undiagnosed with for several years - a) a problem with your inner ear, causing imbalance and the 'drifting' to one side, may also cause a feeling of nausea or vertigo. or b) a case of e-coli infection - i remember my mum would often have migraines and literally collapse with this, her sense of balance was terrible and she too suffered from the synthetic 'drunk' feeling you described - no-one managed to diagnose it for some time and then, after a few years of unsuccessful antibiotics it just went away by itself.

Hope this gives you a few more avenues to investigate/discuss with your doc and that you get the problems sorted soon, best wishes x

I also wonder if maybe the three are related. The nose head and dizzy thing.....I wonder if one is causing the other or if you googled those symptoms what they would say....

I get this feeling when I don't drink enough water. If I get dehydrated I can be in bed for two days until I rehydrate myself, because I get so dizzy and sick feeling.  Migraines could be caused by too many sweets, not enough sleep or both.  I used to have this problem, but drinking a lot of water (don't go over 8 gasses a day thought) and sleeping more. I know you said you have a daughter so it's hard but try to have her take naps too maybe with you ...or if you can afford a nanny or something or have someone watch her.  Your health is important and you need to be healthy in order to take care of her too.  Good luck and take care!
