I agree - I couldn't even FOLLOW that. Do you have a primary care doctor? someone you know and trust? If so, you might ask him or her to weigh in as well. There may be some reason why going off this stuff in a specific order would be most beneficial, but I have no clue what order that might be. I also agree a heart to heart w/ the doc is in order - I just started going to a new doc (my first psychiatrist for meds) and I was terrified. I feel better about it now, and she seems to understand that she has to do things slower than she might otherwise want to and she is - so so far, I like that and it makes me more amenable to the process. But I had to speak up. I was very intimidated by her - still am, to a degree - but I know that it is up to ME and no one else, to hae the final say. Last time I went, we sort of cleared the air and hopefully, it seems that she now Gets it. I hope you can do the same w/ your new doc - that is an awful lot of stuff to remember - if there is a method to his madness, ask him to explain it to you and break it down in terms that are manageable. Take a pad of paper and a pen and take notes. I wish you well.
Thank you. It is so scary. I don't know who to trust. Why would he ever want me to do so much to my body all at once? I am going to talk to him and not make any changes until i see him next week. I am so ready to get better but don't know which one to wean off first. Thanks again for your input
I think that is a lot of changes at once. Let yur dr know if you can slow it down some... for instance just work on weaning you off of one med and let you get used to being without that one then start the next change. It does seem you were taking A LOT of meds for a long period of time and you may not need all of that so the changes may help! But its must be done SLOWLY. Talk to your dr and say yes I want off some of these and I want a change but not so many changes at once. Good luck.
