Hey brenden, I have sent you a Personal Message. Check your inbox and you can reply from there. I'm sure I could help you out quite drastically in this trying time.
Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou for your response I finally feel someone hears me. Honestly the last few days have been hell actually the last 6 months before I was diagnosed. I'm turning 30 this year and have never been like this my whole life, it's just very scary how anxiety or depression can make you so alert to every lump, bump or pain I get. It really drives me up the wall but I feel now somewhat better knowing I'm not going nuts and I just have to stick it out and allow my body to adjust :-) Thankyou again I would really appreciate staying in contact with you realifentreprener :-)
Hi Brendan, I have taken Paxil for over 10 years. I can tell you ALL about it. I too have EXTREMELY bad anxiety problems, panic attacks, horrendous panic... So, yeah, I will be glad to share with you the experience.
1st- Many of the symptoms you have stated are EXACTLY what anxiety and panic do to you. You are probably thinking in the back of your mind of all the negative things that the Paxil can do to you, and in turn, are causing yourself to panic and become more anxiety ridden than in the first place.
2nd- Whenever you start Paxil, it can take up to 6 weeks before you see the noticeable effects of it (the good effects of limiting your anxiety). It has to work it's way into every little nook and cranny of your mind and level out the many different levels of serotonin before it works properly.
3rd- If you were going to have a really bad allergic or adverse reaction, you would of already had it considering it has already been 8 days since the first dose.
Lasly, YES, sometimes during the beginning phase of treatment with Paxil it can take quite a while until you actually feel relief from it. I too, in the beginning like you, experienced TERRIBLE panic, shaking, heart palpitations, bad dreams, shallow breathing (from not breathing correctly to begin with due to the anxiety locking me up), and my hands feet and forehead would become extremely sweaty. And that 'horrible wave' of terror you feel will go away along with the feelings of faintness and 'lightheadedness' and fatigue. Give a week or so and all of those little side affects (if they aren't from your original prognosis) will go away completely.
Just remember whenever that wave comes over you tell yourself: "This is just the paxil, just sit back and observe the feeling and dont let it consume me". And you will find yourself actually feeling that wave and then learning how to completely ignore it to the point of when it does happen it doesnt bother you AT ALL.
Keep me posted and let me know how your doing. Take care.
It's only been happening since my dose went up to 20g for the last 4 days
