Noises

Hey!
I've been noticing for a while now that certain noises annoy/irritate or even anger me. Examples of said noises are chewing, deep voices, typing on computers and most repetitive noises. Its beginning to affect my day to day life and I'm wondering what I should do!! Chewing is a huge problem as I have to leave the room if someone begins to eat, my family tiptoe around me and its a horrible problem to have.

Helpp!

P.S: Sorry if this is in the wrong spot!

Ehh!  I know what you mean!  I hate when you go to a crowed store and a lot people are talking, but you can't make out what everyone is saying.  It's just like a big rumble of different pitches.  That really gets me annoyed and anxious feeling.  Or like my daughter just graduated from kindergarten a few months ago and a lot of people were in the gym and when they started playing music it was really too loud and then all of the people were talking at the same time.  I was ready to pull my hair out!

I understand what both of are going through. Loud noises drive me crazy too and make my anxiety much worse. I think a lot of us with anxiety have the same problem with noises.  Remar

Yeah,
I will let you know what the doctor says. Also, another trigger is you know that noise when a car needs to change gear, that sort of rumbling noise. And drilling. Yeah I have alot of triggers.
I was reading up last night and I came across this website talking about noise anxiety.

Here

It sounds alot like my condition, read up and let me know if it was useful!

I'm glad you're seeing your doctor so soon.
My triggers are many and they change all the time. What really irritated me last week, I don't even notice this week. I've never found a rhyme or reason to this condition and I've spoken to a few doctors about it. I've come to blame it on either my meds, weird eardrums or I'm just wired different than other people.
Certain frequencies of sound will send me running out of a room. I can feel my eardrum vibrating and it makes me feel crazy. Those cars with the massive bass speakers in them..........if I'm near one, I get a very odd feeling in my chest and I also feel very angry and I'm not completley sure it's just because the sound cheeses me off or if it's messing with the wiring in my head. The sound some people make when they chew gum makes me nuts. If someone pushes their chair back and it squeaks across the floor, I give them the Evil Eye............Wow, I see now that I could go on for a long time about noises that bug me.
I do hope our "condition" has a name so I can add it to my list.
Let me know what the doc says, OK? Maybe we're really "speacial" people and the CIA will hire us for gobs of money? Yeah, I didn't think so either.
Peace

Hmm..
I don't really know when it first began but I know it was a rather long time a go, 2 or 3 years to make an estimate! I'm not on any medications. Hmm, nope nothing like that in any way, no colds, allergies or ear/nose/throat infections. No, from what I can remember I wasn't really very stressed.

I need to go to my doctor anyway tomorrow due to an infected cut so I'll mention it to him and get back to you! Also, what are your triggers?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
I'm not positive this is the right forum either, but let's talk about this for a minute. You don't mention any anxiety, either before or after the noises begin to bug you, so for now I'll rule that out. (That is NOT a diagnosis!) Can you try really hard to remember when this first began? Are you on any medications? Have you had any colds, allergies or ear/nose/thraot infections recently? Did your stress level increase dramatically before you noticed these symptoms?
I really have no idea what could be causing this, which is why I think you should discuss this with your doctor, who may refer you to an ENT. There has to be a reason this is happening and when you find out, would you please let me know as the same things happens to me! My triggers are different, but our reactions are the same.
I wish you the best!
Peace
