first time zoloft user
i was wondering how long it takes for Zoloft to work/kick in??? i started by taking a half of a 25mg for a week then took the 25mg for a week, and now im on 50mg for a week. so far i have the shakes, cant sleep, no appetite and im still very sad. i was hoping that it would have started to make me feel better by now. can anyone give me any feedback, i appreciate it so much!

I have been told that there are mild effects earlier, but not to expect the full effect for 6 weeks. Maybe that is what you are experiencing. My grief counselor said to me, "You'll still be sad about the life events that have happened, but you will notice that you aren't crying all the time." That was a good way to put it.
It took me about 8 weeks to feel the full effects of Zoloft. I had all the side effects you are having too. Hang in there,you will feel better soon!:)
To get the first signs of your recovery, antidepressants must be taken for at least several weeks. Side effects may arise much sooner than you get rid of your depression. However, don't get upset about this and think about the future.
