Anxiety started again and it's getting worse

Hello,

Almost about 6 - 7 years ago I was hit in the right eye with a rock losing 90% vision and ever since then I started to get Anxiety and the last 2 - 3 years health anxiety aswel, but in 2015 I was fine (First half of the year), I didn't have anxiety and I was happy as anything, but ever since September 2015 something triggered it again funny thing is my parents went over seas and it started like 3 days before but i also only just got over a eye infection but when i had the eye infection I had a massive panic attack thinking I was going to die because the infection went to brain, well so i thought.. Turns out i was actually fine and it was just a infection but was fine a few days after that.. So I really don't know what started it. Either way ever since then i've been feeling very scared of nearly everything, feeling of not being real like everything just .. doesn't feel real or look real hard to explain, at random times i will just hold my breath not even thinking about it. Is there something wrong with me or is it just anxiety taking over my life, i mean i want to be a police officer i can't do that if i have anxiety.. Please help? I've tried counselling never helped.

Hey there, sounds like you've been going through a rough time, and I'm sorry you've been feeling like this!
The feeling of you not being real or other things not being real is known as denationalization. I get it sometimes due to my anxiety, so that may be what's causing it for you as well.
I don't think anything is wrong with you per se, I think it's just anxiety. I'm not an expert tho, so take everything I'm saying with a grain of salt.
Personally, I don't know how to help anxiety get better, but I know a lot of people have been able to overcome it, and I believe in you. I've heard meditation or exercise can help, but those both take time and dedication for them to start helping at all.
This is getting kind of long so I'm going to cut it off for now, but talk to me okay? It can definitely help to talk to someone about this stuff, even if counselling never helped and you're just talking to an anonymous person online.
Best wishes!!
