dear all,
i was suffering from sternum pain since a year and just yesterday something happened, while i was beushing my carpet sitting down,my daughter ran towards me saying something is irritating her eyes,i immediately turned to see what had happened and instinctly all i cud do was to blow harder with full pressure in her eyes...but after that i sat down with a feeling of having rupture something down my sternum....i thought oh goodness,i have damaged more heavily and my pain aggravated for few secs, but later i found the pain had gone completely...it looks like the body has corrected itself....try this....it worked with me,it might not work with everyone as causes are different, but just blow harder as possible ....now even when i sneeze,i dont hold my sternum....thank u my daughter.well, there was nothing in her eyes...but my panic did seem to help me.hope it hepls atleast one reading this reply.
Thanks, I cant stand it anymore. I will look that up.
This sounds like possible Costochondritis which is an inflammation of the junctions where the upper ribs join with the cartilage that holds them to the breastbone and sternum.
I got that short explanation off of webmd. Google this and see if it applies to you.
I do have gastritis and GERD. The thing is, I eat so bland. Food doesnt seem to be a trigger. It is constant pain in the exact middle of my chest. Nothing seems to alliviate it, which really has me scared. Might go for xray 2mrw. Thanks
Also, I setup my own forums (I do basic web design for work) to help me track my symptoms. Feel free to take a gander at the different symptoms I've been experiencing and their progression. www.nowwearefree.org
I'm trying to setup some forums specifically for just anxiety, stress, depression, and addictions...
Sounds like exactly what I'm going through, and went through last night...right down to the old xanax. I had the same pain right at the bottom of my sternum, and also some pain just to the left of that area. Does thinking about the pain make it worse with time? Mine did, and I did the exact same thing you did...it eventually went away because the xanax knocked me out. (best sleep aid in the world I think) If you have gastritis like I do...antacids will help a little bit, but you should feel a lot more relief from muscle relaxants like the xanax. Have you tried altering your diet, or does the pain subside when you eat?
