Ohh P.s..... Thrush in the mouth is the Candida yeast so the Spit test will tell you. A Candida overgrowth in either the mouth or Vagina is what we all know as Thrush..... But this is a good indication that if you have it in the mouth you may have an overgrowth in the intestines.... but a stool test is the only way to be 100% certain.
P.s paxiled im glad u think this is good information for people and i thank-you for your input.
Hi Paxiled, It had to be you didn’t it....lol
First off, i didn’t go into much detail with either condition, if i had of there would have been pages and pages of information for people to read and i very much doubt anyone would have the time or patience to sit through that. The purpose of this was to highlight a few issues and let people go off and research them if they found them of interest. Then they could make their own mind up of whether to take any further action for their own well being.
Secondly i have been working with a Nutritionist who with her knowledge and that of research has uncovered the true extent of Candida and the effects it has on the immune system. Now as you are fully aware; stress, anxiety, panic disorders, mental illness, mood disorders, the harsh medications they give us for these disorders, anti-biotic, corticosteroids etc... All have a detrimental effect on the immune system, which allows Candida to flourish. All it can take is one course of medication to throw the balance of flora out in the gut; this then gives Candida an opportunity to thrive. People with such conditions usually have an impaired or weakened immune system. Plus Read up on Selye (1958) with his theory of G.A.S, he who i have studied in University a few yrs back.
A diet high in yeast, even brewers yeast, can irritate Candida and make the symptoms worse. Sugar’s will most certainly feed the Candida and these two entities can be found in all processed and baked foods. Systematic Candida is theorised that one cause is leaky gut, which allows Candida to escape the intestines. Yes this can be extremely detrimental in individuals with immune suppressant illnesses such as HIV, organ transplant etc... But even in a person with a weakened immune system the symptoms can still be prevalent and disabling. Leaky gut is a result of medications, foods low in fibre and high in additives, chemicals, impacted faecal material releasing toxins; all can cause damage to the lining of the intestines. Food intolerances/allergies are also a result of leaky gut, as particles bigger than normal escape the intestines and the immune system see these particles as intruders and attack them. This can cause different and sometimes severe symptoms ranging across the spectrum, from skin rashes to anxiety, panic attacks.
Yes i forgot to mention that high doses of B6 can indeed cause damage to the nerve endings so it is very important to get tested first, but i did emphasise this in my post.
Plus again to stipulate this post is just a means to make people aware that these conditions can cause anxiety and other mental health issues within people and is not to make a diagnosis.
Oh, forgot to add, too much zinc is toxic, so be careful with that one, too.
This isn't to denigrate anything said, but just to let people know. The yeast used in food and brewing isn't at all the same as candida yeast. Yes, they are all forms of yeast, but one can't turn into the other. Also, the spit test isn't going to tell you anything except you might have thrush, which is a common yeast infection attached to the tongue that is easily gotten rid of. It isn't at all the same as the yeast infection mostly found in women's vaginal area. But the candida that causes the really bad symptoms described above is systemic candida, meaning it has to get into the internal organs, not just the periphery. It isn't as common as people think, but it can happen. It's usual cause is an overuse of antibiotics, which causes a die-off of the protective organisms that live on the intestinal walls, allowing candida to move inside the body. For most of us, our immune systems will prevent this, but some people do get systemic candida. How many I have no idea. As for B6 deficiency, do get tested first, and make sure the test is done more than once. An overdose of B6 can cause a neuropathy that can be pretty devastating. But many people with mental problems supplement with B6 because it is an essential co-factor for the brain to produce both serotonin and GABA. But if you take too much without also taking more of the other Bs, particularly B12 and folate, you will deplete those from your body and also suffer mentally. So it's complicated. Always worth checking everything, though, and this is good info for those who have never looked for a medical cause for their anxiety -- there are a lot of possibilities, including thyroid problems, hormonal imbalances, persistent viruses that are very hard to find, inner ear problems, etc. Good luck to everyone out there.
Glad u found the info interesting...just hope more people read this.
thanks for the info! i agree it is always best to clear med issues with this disorder
