Absolutely! There are many books out there about low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), my favorite of which is Low Blood Sugar and You, by Carleton Fredericks. Hypoglycemia affects the workings of all our glands, our minds, our sleep rhythms, growth cycles, our very brains and thinking.
SassieLassie, I had similar test reactions. So humiliating and embarrassing; very much like panic attacks. As far as your last sentence, though, I've had a couple of really nasty supervisors...
Ah, isn't laughter good for the soul?
Most definitely, sugar is a big cause in anxiety. It can cause a "Rush" and when it is either going down or up, that fluctuation can also be a contributing factor in panic/anxiety.
I had the six hour glucose tolerance test, and I mean to tell you, I had so many "mood" swings, it was a nightmare, I was fine at the beginning, but, after I drank that sugar juice as I call it, all heck broke loose. I had bad anxiety attacks, would cry, then, calm down, then act up again, when my body finally was adjusted, at the end, I was OK but very embarrassed over the way I had acted. Oh well, I guess I sure showed true signs of a hypoglycemic anxiety state. I wish those feelings on no one.
yes, sugar gives you that RUSH, which is like the anxiety and your body says, oh no anxiety even though your head knows it's from the sugar or coke or coffee, I would stay away from them or in moderation. good luck
