TAPER OFF XANAX

I wrote a e-mail about Klonopin, and was harsh, only because I'm trying to get off xanax. I have around 2 weeks to come off xanax, or this clinic is gonna stop prescribing Suboxone, i been taking suboxone and xanax for 3 years, the xanax for 20 years. The clinic that was prescribing the suboxone shut down, and i got referral to this clinic that does not take anybody on benzo's {Klonopin..xanax } he's been nothing but supportive..he wanted me to come off in 3 weeks, i couldnt do it, so i try again, and fail, it's been 2 months trying to kick the xanax... oh ya, for anybody that doesn't know Suboxone it takes the craving away from OPIATES, and i havent had a bag of dope{ heroin } , perks, and so on for 31/2 years. The bottom line is i pissed off my d.r., he gave me plenty of time, he also gave me,{ i should of mention this awhile ago } Seroquel i started at 50mg, and i'm up to 100mg at night, and clonidine 0.1mg and neurontine 300mg, the 1st time it scared me because it hit me like a brick, my head on my desk, nodding out. now my last appt. i told him i cant do it, he wrote out a scrip and said, look for another clinic, i tryed, nobody takes anybody with a benzo habit. i saw my counselor and told him i will kick the xanax, now i have 2 weeks to tapper, its been 2 days with 1mg, 3 or 2 more days i'm coming down to a 1/2mg every other day for 5 days and i'm done. now with the meds i'm taking, will this be smooth? or am i gonna freak out like in the past?..any D.R.'S out there for a better way?

I think you're telling me you have one doctor giving you the suboxone and one giving you the xanax. Maybe you can get the doctor giving you the xanax to just give you klonopin and "jump" stright over to the klonopin and take a bumpy ride for a while, till the klonopin reaches a steady state.

You should have never been given the xanax with your addiction in the first place and even still you should off been monitored safely off. You're just collateral damage now.

I was bouncing back and fort with klonopin to xanax, back to klonopin..and back to xanax, I dove my Dr. crazy!!!and he told me..THAT'S IT..NO MORE CHANGING YOUR MEDS!!!! Like i said, he doesn't know about what I'm trying to do, I'm doing it for this psychiatrist who is prescribing SUBOXONE, i been on suboxone for 3 years...my clinic closed, i got referred to this guy who does not prescribing suboxone with anybody on benzo's. It's been 2 month's with his method of a tapper, he wanted me off in a month or sooner. when i saw him, he gave me a months dose of my suboxone...and he gave me Seroquel.50mg..neurontine300mg.clonidine..01..i started with one of each at bedtime for a week, then i went up to 2 at night. now.i'm doing.. Seroquel.100mg..600mg of nerontine..02 of cloidide at night ..during the first time trying to tapper, i was down to a 1/2mg of xanxax for about a week, and one day i freaked out, did a mg, called my counselor, and told him, i can't do this, now the psychiatrist is in the program..A.A., i think he needs a drink!! or hit a meeting, i want to keep this e-mail clean, this d.r, @!#$% you see he has me with the suboxone, if i dont come off the benzos..see ya..I been clean off all pain med's..heroin..for over 3 years, and the last clinic let me take xanax with suboxone, anybody that doesn't know what suboxone is..it helps with my opiate addition...so i tryed getting another dr. for the suboxone, and no luck....I FEEL SO ALONE HERE

Not I'm gonna. Read it NOW! You're coming off way too fast. The problems later because of such a rappid taper are much worse than if you would just taper slowly in the first place. You don't do it your way with Xanax. You taper very slowly. Don't taper with xanax. Don't be afriad to change your benzo.  Cross-over to klonopin or valium. Find a benzo site with pro's to exlpain to you how to do a cross-over and a water titration. Do this to minimize the pain. I know what I'm talking about. A gentelman here "Ryan" told about klonopin wafers and they are a great idea for reducing. That's the first time I ever heard about it anywhere and I have found they even come in .125 wafers. This has been a great help for others at the benzo sites. Hold off on the coffee for a long while.

Thank you both...your right..if i really wanted off the xanax, i would go to any lenths to get off them, i wake every morning full of fear, i take 1mg, and by time my coffee is done, i feel normal..i just keep on getting flash backs coming off them...i tryed inpatient..just to come out.....out of my mind, calling Dr.'s because i would lose the dr. that was writing them...begging other d.r's to put me back on them i been with this dr. for 9 years now, no therapy.. i'm down to 1mg from doing 2mg a day..if i adjust to that ok..next week i'll come down to a 1/2..i know i'm doing it my way..and my way never worked...thanks again..i'll let you know how i'm doing..meanwhile please send suggestions,even if i do it my way, i'm still listning..i use to be a good speller, that's how much damage i did, and everybody says IT GETS BETTER!!!!!!

i forgot to tell you buddy i kicked a bottle of brandy a day habit . easyer than any benzo an that was when i came down the 6 loz to 4 . mind you flatlining does kinda give you an insentive.

Find a doctor to help you come off the Xanax...period. See site benzo.org.uk (Ashton Manual). I don't know what to tell you about the opiates. No more questions about benzo's, either you want to come off or you don't. Being scared is normal. I might be so bold to say you know how to shop for a doctor and find some help. With the drugs you've done you're plenty tough enough to get off Xanax.

WHO PUT ME ON XANAX 9 YEARS AGO { one of many dr.s } ETHER HE WOULD FREAK OUT AND CALL THIS SUBOXONE  DR. AND SAY" WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY PATIENT, OR TAKE ME OFF THE XANAX HIMSELF..YOU SEE I'M LEAVING THAT DOOR OPEN JUST IN CASE I CAN'T DO IT, AND I'LL CONTINUE WITH XANAX....IF I REALLY WANTED, WELL NOT SO SCARED OF COMING OFF THEM, I WOULD OF TOLD MY PRIMARY ALLREADY, THIS WAY I WOULD CUT MY SUPPLY...I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF THE WITHDRAWLS, I TRYED IT MANY TIMES, IF I HAD MONTHS AND I CALLED THE SHOTS, MAYBE I WOULDNT BE SO SCARED!!!!

they think we are robots. come off this benzo son in 3 weeks /sure i can , no you carnt or you would have done it the nerds.benz os are worse than heroin to come of, 3 weeks heroin an its up to you to stay off , benzos 3 months maby never . when you come of if you can %99are back on them again in 6 months or less, so pointless.my shrink said to do the c.b.t course im on i have to come of loz thats his deal . its not a deal its blackmail.even my gp said i will be on loz for life it just to hard to kick . i did kick 6 off my 10 but spent 3 months in my room banging my head against the wall an loosein half my body weight,stopped a 4 could go down no more sooner die thats how bad it is,i love my blue cobra lorazepan its nearly took my life an also save it .she wont let me leave her an she is my crutch , we all need soeone to lean on
