xanax withdrawl

im 19 years old and I've been on xanax the .5 ones but im not sure for about 4 months. i got prescribed them because i went to my doctor complaining of panic attacks, hyper ventilation, and chest pains. well i'm out of pills and i'm not sure but i think im going through withdrawals. first day it was pretty easy but after i woke up the next morning my whole body ached i had a massive head ache and i was extremely depressed. My question is: am I actually going through withdrawals, if i am can i do it alone, and is there an alternative to xanax thats not as addictive and doesnt make you feel all drowsy and loopy through out the day. and any other helpful information you can give me about quiting xanax would help. oh and i didn't tell my doctor this but i've had a history of drug abuse in my past, i've abused drugs like methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and all sorts of pills and hallucinogens.

It's entirely possible that what you are going through is a benzo w/d. So, without further ado, or lies about your past drug abuse, get your butt back to your doctor and tell him all this. ALL OF IT! You CAN NOT simply quite Xanax, you must wean very slowly off this particular med.
Call your doctor tomorrow.
