Actually, smoking pot, drinking, and doing other drugs that alter the chemicals in your brain can act as a catalyst to mental illness. This is especially true in cases where you may have a genetic predisposition. Anxiety and depression are common affects of drug use, even years later. I personally have had problems with both after spending a summer smoking weed with a friend. Smoking weed would relax me... and then when the affects wore off I would be bouncing off the walls for days afterwards. Dont be surprised if these symptoms of anxiety dont return. However, it could just be normal anxiety from starting a new job. : )
Yes, smoking definately can make your anxiety worse..about the meds..i would keep taking them, it may take a little bit for you to be able to tell if it's helping or not. I've had anxiety and depression since i was like 13 or 14 and was diagnosed with manic depression over a year ago... so I know how you feel. Hope everything works out!
Anxiety can do this to you, and since your heart has checked out okay, it's the anxiety causing your symptoms. Anxiety can cause varying symptoms with varying degrees. When you say it's been awhile since you have touched the meds, are you referring to your Klonopin and Pristique? Knowing this would help us to help you. Thanks.
