i up my dose of effor xr to 150mgs last monday, my tremours have stopped, i hope the meds keep this problem in check, i finally can start to think clearly now and remember things, this anxiety stuff is for the birds, i feel like i can be normal again, what ever that is. i love the fact that the doctor put me on hydrobenzine, its a strong antihistamine, and its none-habit forming. it works very well when i have an anxiety attack, it take about 20-30mins to take full effect and works for about 4hrs. i think GOD that i haven't had to take one in 2 days now. i still take my effor xr in the mornings, and seems to work very well. soon i will start some thearaphy. i can't believe how many people have this same problem, i'm amazed and someday hope i can help them as much as other people have helped me thru this time off anxiety and need.

they told me i have GAD, and it will take along time to relieve the symtoms, i hope after i start a new job and get in the grove of life again, i will be able to back down the dose, or even get off the meds. one thing i can say about effor, it doesn't make me sleepy, or the hydrobenzine. man the paxil would just make me feel blaa all day long. i believe and pray that this doctor cares, heck he spent almost 30min with me the first time i seen him. i drill him with question, i hate drugs, but i have no other choice at this time. today has been the best day i have had in weeks, so someday i will be off the meds, just not now.

Hiya... thats a big statement from the doctor saying that u'll proberly be on medication for the rest of your life.... has he/she referred you to therapy?  I've been told by my doctor that medication should never be as a long term solution, it should be used in conjunction with therapy, so that once the therapy begin to work the medciation can then be tapered off slowly.

Sadly i didn't have this doctor when i was left on the Paxil for 12 whole years with no therapy at all... if i had of had him maybe things would of been a whole lot different for me right now.

i feel like the shakes or tremours will never go away, i was on paxil over a year ago, weind off of the paxil, started an new job, it sent me for a whirlwind, my anxiety attacks came back more severe, along with the tremours, tried paxil again, didn't work, doctor put me on effor and hydrobenzine, still wake up with shakes, not as severe, the doctor says it will take time, and they said most likely i will be on med's for most of my life. if it will cure this evil thing and make me stable, it will be worth it.

Really... i wonder why this is then?  I was taking Paxil for 12 yrs before this... tapered off slowly etc... then 6 months later it all started again, anxiety, panic attacks, through having a upset in my life so yeah thought going back on it would be like a walk in the park... i guess not.

Tried several other SSRI's and 1 SNRI but my body can't handle them... it's like a massive kick in the teeth cause around day 3/4 i start to feel relaxed and soooo much better mentally but then i get the physcial side effects which i can't live with... it feels like a cruel trick being played on me.

But have made it my mission to overcome my agoraphobia, anxiety without the med's now and am making baby steps.... it's the far harder route but i'm hoping it will be the better and more successful route in the long term.

Which med's are you on now then?

I had similiar issues with Paxil.
I had taken it as a teenager with great success stopped taking it around 2 years later. I started to have classic anxiety issues, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, but no panic attacks as of yet, started on Paxil and had the worse anxiety attack I had had since being initially diagnosed. Since then I have struggled to get a handle on the attacks and have started on different medications

I experienced anxiety attacks going on 3 months now it came out of nowhere scared me i literally thought i had something wrong bad with me.I finally went to the Doc and went to the ER twice because i thought it was something really serious.Well the ER ran blood work and cat scan and EKGS they didn't find anything i think its just amazing how they just come out of nowhere and i am like you its like there is nothing you can do about it unless you take medication which i don't which i should but i am trying to deal with them on my own..So good luck to ya and what is really bad its like you get a new symptom everyday..

Hi, are you still experiencing the anxiety attacks now?

I had a severe panic episode while in the first stages of taking Paxil, which was soo bad i had to stop taking it.  This caused me to feel extremely shaky for a few weeks after... my anxiety was very high and well nothing seemed to cause it to happen i would just  shake and go off into another panic attack...

Don't get me wrong Paxil works for alot of people but it's just not suited for me....

Has your doctor given you any med's?  Beta-blockers are great for stopping palps, tremors/shaking, sweating, rapid heart beat, tight chest...maybe you could discuss this with him/her?
