My dr tried swtiching me from clonazepam after 5 years to xanax.....it was a horrible experience for me....the clonzepam is longer acting drug than xanax so I was getting enough in my system of xanax like the clonazepam.....he just kept telling me I was scared of the xanax and I said I wasnt but I felt like I was going crazy inside....I had to call family over to be with me and I was calling the dr on the weekend at his house....he finally just told me to go back on the clonazepam and after the 3 dose that day I felt back to normal or as normal can get....
I am like you I only take.25mg 3 times a day and it doesnt do anything but I am scared to increase it because I know I will just get use to that and then its to increase it again and again....they finally put me on paxil 3 weeks ago and I have already tried it 3 times before and have tried over 25 different anti-depressants for the last 5 years only to feel worse than before....I am on my 4th week starting tomorrow and everyday that passes i feel worse and worse....I am not sure I will ever make it thru on it but I am trying my hardest cause i know I need something...
I would talk to my dr and see what he wants to do....you are already on a high doseage and he may not want to go any higher...it just depends on your dr....all of them are different....but you need to discuss it with him so you can get some relief and not suffer....I know anxiety is horrible....I lost my job over it 5 years ago and I dont do anything but stay home all the time....I want my life back so bad...but I always feel so bad and dizzy I just stay home....I hope you never get like that so be sure to call your dr right away and get some help...hope you get to feeling better soon......God bless
In my opinion, one can definitely build up a tolerance to benzos. Klonopin is a longer acting benzo, so I am not sure if you would want to switch to one like Xanax because it is usually prescribed short term and on an as needed basis. Why not go back to your doctor and talk about it?
Also, more importantly, have you been going to counseling to learn about and confront your anxiety? In my experience, to attain long term relief, one must understand and confront it by learning about it. Also, are you on an SSRI like Zoloft or Paxil? For me, this type of medication worked really well while I was going through counseling and it is prescribed long term for anxiety....keep us posted!
My doctor prescribed me Clonazepam 4 weeks ago on a dosage of 0.5mg a day once a day. He said I would feel very relaxed and anxiety relief. I haven't felt a THING since he prescribed it. I don't feel relaxed at all and my anxiety still exists.
i only take 0.5 milligrams three times a day, thats a low dose.i have been on this dose for years now it seems like its not working anymore.starting to get anxious every day again.
