Should I be worried about Xanax withdrawal?

I was prescribed a bottle of Xanax in the ER for my severe anxiety. The bottle contained about 15 pills and for the last two weeks, I have taken one almost every day (only ONE). They are .5 mg. My concern is that I will experience withdrawals and, perhaps, seizures or something that could be dangerous. Do I have to worry about that having been on such a low dose for such a short time?

i should say...2 weeks on a daily dosage. many people use it for much longer but it isn't really designed to be used every day the way some people use it. it works best as needed...there are other meds that would be designed more for daily usage.

2 weeks is about the amount of time it can be used therapeutically. odds are that a dose that low wouldn't cause any major withdrawal symptoms. every person is different though...and as always, it's best to just check with your doctor. if you were in a bad enough condition to be in the ER...i think you should be keeping in contact with your doctor anyway.

I take Xanax as needed for my anxiety.  Which isn't very often or very much. I have never experienced any withdrawl symptoms.  Xanax is particulalry safe and effective in treating anxiety but with so much bad press (generally reagarding boneheads who are using this stuff for FUN) people are very wary of it.  Every person is different and you might or might not experience withdrawl.  With such a low dose for such a short period of time I would seriously doubt it.  Educate yourself but remember we as anxious people tend to believe we have what we don't and scare ourselves right into the emergency room. (I thought I had serontonin sydrome and was gonna die).  I was fine and so will you be.  I am on buspar as my regular med and it works really good without the risks.  Xanax is really good to "take the edge off" when I am having to do something that has caused me to panic.
