24 7 chest tightness. I need answers!

I'm a 23 year old female and I have been having chest tightness for a little over 4 months. It started two months after I quit smoking. I was a smoker for 6 years. I've had multiple chest x rays, ct scan with contrast, upper endoscopy, pulmonary function test, stress test and an echo. Everything turned out fine on my test except I have little secretions in my chest he said I needed to cough up. I currently have a gastroenterologist, pulmonologist, cardiologist, and a psychologist. They are saying it's anxiet. Could anxiety possibly make you have 24 7 chest tightness? Is that really possible. Nobody knows what's wrong with me and I'm starting to feel like I'm crazy. I've developed really bad health anxiety during this 4 month process and I just want answers. Has anybody else had something similar?

I have most of those. When my panic attacks occur my whole left side of body goes numb and feels like it's on fire. Mu heart feels like it's going to jump put of my chest and I don't feel like I'm in reality. It's horrible and don't wish anxiety upon anyone. But it's all refreshing to hear that I know I'm not the only one that's experienced this as bad as that sounds. I see psychiatrist on Wednesday so hopefully my treatment will work wonders! I'm glad you beat this! It gives me hope.

had the same problem for a year 23 to 24 years old  , and  I still have them occasionally  but I know now it is anxiety and stress related, my suggestion to you is to visit a Psychiatrist so you can start treating your anxiety.  I took every possible test to check my heart and every time they told me the same thing, that my heart was perfectly fine and It was all in my head.
So relax, it is most likely not your heart and very probably your head, as soon as you realize that you can have a panic attack and control yourself because even though it feels terrible , you can be sure you are not going to die.

My symptoms were:
- Fainting feeling
- Impeding doom feeling
- Terrible chest pains ( Left side and center of the chest)
- Sweating
- Back pains ( left upper side with burning sensation)
- Neck pain and Neck burns
- Numbness in my left arm
- Pain in my left arm
- Shortness of Breath
- Dizziness
- Fear of eating
- Fear of exercising

This symptoms where not all at the same time but a lot of them were, I was on therapy for a year taking  PAXIL everyday  and I had Xanax in case of a crisis, I finished my treatment and everything went away.

Good luck

I've never had anxiety before. That's why it's hard to believe people are telling me it's that. How long have you had it and how have you been able to deal with it?

I was probably on it for like 3 weeks. Not very long at all. Did you have chest tightness? If you did, did the zoloft help it any?

I'm on zoloft now . It has saved me from some much anxiety and panic. Unfortunately, I had to start taking it again after being off of it for 2 years. How long did you take it before you stopped?

I have been through the exact same thing. You just have to tell yourself there is nothing wrong.if you are not on anti anxiety meds it's probably best to do so and go see a doctor.

No not yet. They tried putting me on zoloft but I didn't like the way it made me feel.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Defiantly sounds like anxiety to me. Are you on any anti anxiety medication?
