need to up meds? not sure

I've been taking 10mg Prozac for about six weeks for my panic disorder. It's a new med for me. And I'm finding that most of the time I'm great and then I'll have a few days in a row where I'm a hot mess. Does anyone have any experience with Prozac and needing to up the dose? I know 10mg is the lowest. I see my psychiatrist next week.

Seems like you have health anxiety?  I do too, and it is common with people who have anxiety. It is awful. It will make your over rationalize every symptom you that you have/overthink it/jump to the worse conclusion. etc, etc. I know how you feel. Talk to your doctor about upping the dosage IF you would like too/feel like you need too. As you said 10mg is the lowest dosage for Prozac. If you do decide to go up you will likely be bumped up to 20mg and see how that goes for a few weeks.

It's just do frustrating! I'll be sitting on the couch watching s movie with my daughter, and it just hits me. My heart races, I get light headed and I'm scared that I will pass out. IRS hard to rationalize the physical symptoms. It's hard  to swallow, that scares me. My heart feels like a jackhammer, that scares me. EVERYTHING scares me. I hate it.

6  weeks is more than a comfortable time period to up the Prozac.  During my prime anxiety days I was taking 60mg of Prozac.  Upping the dosage is something that only you and your doctor can decide on.  The few days in a row being a hot mess could have been the side effects too.  Hopefully those are all out of the way.  I have found.. and this is just my opinion, but all the meds in the world wont make our anxiety go away.  Just help us.
