90 bpm is ok. Probably a little elevated compared to your normal resting rate, but don't worry about it. The more you worry, the higher it will get. And as you keep worrying your chest will hurt more, and your chance of a panic attack increases (which was probably what you had when your heart rate was 148 in the ER). Try to get your mind off the pain and heart rate. Turn on some TV, read a book, or get some rest. It will help.
I wish I could follow my own advice. Easier said than done. The attacks can be very scary. My heart was 212 (I have a high maximum heart rate) once in the ER and I had a doctor and a few nurses rushing to surround me. I think the fact that everyone was rushing to help me scared me into the worst panic attack I have ever had.
i was actually in the hospital hooked up to the machine when it went to 148, i went to the ER complaining of chest pain, i had had a bad infection and was out on my birthday celebrating and drinking and had bad chest pains all night,i went to the er and they x rayed me and everything was fine, but the funny thing is i heard the doctor on the phone saying my name and immediately became anxious, it was at this point my heartrate soared to 148bpm, they kept me in overnight because my heart was beating so fast, was fine in the morning and they let me out, all anxiety!
that IS high, do u av the chest pains, etc
mine has been up at 148bpm before, when i was particularly anxious, the minute you start worrying your heartrate will increase
The heart is a very strong muscle. Alot depends on the person. I take it you have had your heart checked out and was told nothing to worry about? If that's the case then it probably is anxiety. Try not to sit and take your pulse rate constantly, the more you do the more your anxiety will feed into it. Kick back and do some deep breathing.
thank god for that, how high would you let it get before u panicked?
Normal resting is 60-80, but mine routinely runs higher than that...its anxiety. Sometimes I'm 110 just sitting around.
