Does any other adult in here have Separation Anxiety, from what everyone says its usually in young children, but I'm 19 and my Separation Anxiety isn't with my parents its with my fiance'. I just want to know if there is anyone else that is like me.
Thank you and I have been thinking about getting into therapy. I definitely understand that anxiety isn't rational, I was just worried, because I've been having some really out of the ordinary anxiety attacks. Thank you both for your help.
Yes. I have it with my husband!! It's awful and I'm trying to beat it a little at a time. Anxiety like Paxiled said isn't rational and makes our minds think irrational just remember it is an irrational thought that is telling you to panic when your fiance is gone and nothing bad is going to happen from you being away from him. That's what I try to tell myself but I still have to make sure he has his cellphone when he goes out the door so I can contact him if I need to. Try doing little things at a time to re adjust to being away from him like keep a shirt or something of his close by. Good luck and know you are not alone. Anxiety causes weird feelings and thoughts for all of us just know that they aren't "your thoughts" they are your "anxieties thoughts."
