I am having severe anxiety attacks all day and everyday. I am in menopause and not taking any supplements. I am taking up to 3.5mg of xanax a day. My mornings are the absolute worst. I have depersonalization feelings. I don't know if this could be caused by the xanax. I need help. I have been taking up to this dose for about 6 months. I am scared and don't know what to do. I do not feel like myself at all. Please someone help!

Are you interested in trying any HRT?  I tried menopause without it and that only lasted 6 months.  I had a previous long history with depression and my anxiety started 1 yr before menopause.  I was such a *****, my family was ready to divorce me!  I felt so much better-it helped my moods and IRRITABILITY.

Perhaps you need a mild anti-depressive med like Cymbalta or Lexipro to go along with the xanax? I'd check with your doctor. Best wishes!

Have you had your VIT D checked lately?  And has your doc checked thyroid and blood glucose?  My husband, who has MS, and Low VIT D count has been complaining of high anxiety lately even though he is on the highest dose of his meds so I started checking his blood sugar (we had a tester in the house from another family member) every time he complained of anxiety and sure enough it was a blood sugar imbalance.

I hope this helps
