Hi I was prescribed propranolol for anxiety and I took 20mg at night but couldnt sleep at all then took another 10mg about 5 hrs later which seemed to make me feel worse I had chest tightness and difficulty breathing can this dosage affect my heart in a negative way, the chest tightness eased now but im still worried and I dont plan on taking the med again, please advive

How is your propanolol prescribed?  Propanolol is actually a beta blocker, so you have to be careful to make sure you are taking it as prescribed, otherwise you run the risk of having your BP drop, along with your heart rate.

Do you take any other medications?
