Hello and Help !!!!

Hello, i have had LUPUS for about 7 years and in the last 6 months or so i seem to have had lots of different things going wrong . My problem at the moment is that i have started to take migraine type headahces with numbness around my mouth and visual problems. I am to have a brain scan ( hope they find one ), to rule out sle involvement. Problem though is that for a while now i have felt confused and overwhelmed by things and find myself getting confused when relating a story etc to people.   I feel scared by this and wondered if anyone can possibly tell me if they have had this problem and if it WAS related to lupus ? p.s. i also find myself crying and shouting a lot but doc says i do not have depression.... thank you..   Susan x

Hello and welcome to MedHelp.

I find myself getting confused alot.  And having some neurological symptoms.  But have not been evaluated.  I have waves of vertigo, and a feeling that eggs are running over my head.  Sometimes that same sensation is felt in my arms and legs, but not as much as on my head.  I know that seizures occur when a real serious neuro involvement takes place.  Thankfully you are not experiencing those.

We wish you well.   Praying for you.  And yes, please keep us posted on what you find out.

My doctor is in the midst of finalizing a diagnosis of Lupus (bloodwork is all over the place) and is treating me with Plaquenil.  I have had migraines for all of my life but lately have had less with my treatment started.  I know they are common with Lupus and for me it could just be the around the clock ibuprofen that is keeping them at bay.  By any chance are you on any hormone replacements or the pill?  They can cause migraines in some people.

I do find that I suffer from confusion, bad memory, and can no longer handle being in busy or loud places.  I seem to be much more sensitive to outside stimuli.  I have had a couple of situations where my mouth felt numb and I was almost slurring my words.  I do find this happens more when I am severely anemic or not getting enough rest.

Please do let us know how it went.
