Abby is not eating :(

We recently moved into our new home. We have been living there for about 5 days now. One of my cats, Dillan, is being his normal self. Abby, on the other hand, is very angry all the time, growls when Dillan gets near him, and is not eating. I don't think he likes our new place. He has lost weight.  I know moving is very stressful for kitties, but we are talking about a cat who is used to traveling and has never shown symptoms of stress when moving to new places. This is a first.

Abby doesn't look too good. Is there anything I can do to make him eat? My kitty will only follow me, listen to me, sleep next to me, and play with me. But as far as eating.............nothing. Not one bite. He is very.......grouchy. He seems upset and does not want Dillan near him. It is very difficult to watch. I don't know how long I have to wait for him to come around...as he has already lost weight...too much for my liking.  He has always liked his diet. Right now I am giving him duck (his favorite meal). But I have already run out of ideas with the food. I can't get any more creative than I already am with the food. I'm worried.

P.S - I can't give him commercial foods. I simply can't. I know he'd eat it like there is not tomorrow....but I just can't feed him anything commercial or his IBD will start all over again.

Any ideas?

Right now we are boiling an egg to feed him bit by bit. The egg yolk is so good for kitties... If that doesn't stimulate him, I will have to follow your vet's advice, Opus. I am trying to avoid a trip to the vet, because my cat is already too stressed.
Right now he is sleeping in the bed, in the dark. That's not like Abby. Abby likes to play and be out there doing cat 'stuff'. Abby doesn't even want to be near my backyard.

Gosh, Dillan is such an easy, low maintenance pet!! Abby, well what can I say....Abby is Abby.

Opus, I will keep you posted hon. Thanks!

oh that is sooo stressful when our kitties are ill or won't eat for whatever reason...as you know I had similar issues with Sami, with him i think there were just tooooo many changes in food over a short period and he quit!!
maybe for Abby its either health related or stress related due to your move as you say.

with Sami and not eating he too has lost alot of weight and it was breaking my heart.
I had a long talk with my vet on Friday and he suggested the store bought brands in FISH...just for a SHORT period to get him eating again than reintroduce the good diet.
well that poor little guy is eating like theres no tomorrow, 3x a day +....I felt soooo bad, I was starving him!!

I know of Abby's IBS issues, but would it hurt to just give her some of these for a day or two just until she settles?
Like my vet said...they gotta eat!
non eating can/will cause a whole host of other problems as you know.

please keep posting so we know how he is doing
And bless the poor little guy, he must be suffering, mentally or physically....gosh I hope you can resolve this.
